  • Neon without a title, swap the motor into another neon?

So I have no title for this 1998 Dodge Neon 4-door. It's only got 50,000 miles on it, engine and trans. are completely mint. It was given to me as my first car, I beat on the original 100k motor and had a new R/T engine swapped in with the dual overhead cams and whatnot, only 29k at the time.

The problem is I can't get a title for the car... Tried every which way.

anyone think it's worth it to find a blown up 5speed neon and swap the motors? hey 150 stock hp isnt bad for a 2600lb car? Engine has crane cams P&P head, header, cold air intake and other mods so maybe like 175hp or so. Could be a little sleeper winter beater, probably faster than my camaro was stock lol... the auto was slow though

i had a neon for a month...no offense but they're incredibly cheap cars...is a 98 the 2nd gen? cause I had the 1st gen and it fell apart...engine, suspension, brakes, interior, exterior...nothing good about the car

I've heard the 2nd gens are improved tho

never owned one but to me they are the american ricer
if u do mods to a 4 cylinder car and put ground efx and a large spoiler its a ricer and the neon srt-4 is just that

what a car is doesn't make it rice. what you do to it does. the neon is just simple and American brand economy car. specifically made cheap to cost cheap. there is nothing rice about actually bettering the performance of the car. there are hundreds of thousands of 4 bangers out on the street that could smoke you and me so bad you might shed a tear. you and i don't exactly have American muscle either. if you look up what rice or rice burner means, it says a vehicle that has been modified to give impression of high performance, but does not necessarily have any high-performance capabilities. a V6 in a car known for power, like the f-body, power which we really don't have, is kinda rice. so actually putting in some better cams to actually add hp is not rice. its "run what you brung".

you dont think the srt4 isnt rice?
the neon not rice until u modify it and the srt4 is a modified neon

What is rice about it? its a 13 sec 4 banger with what is really, a small crappy turbo and supposedly a setup that screams for more attention. Do you car run 13s factory or even now? besides, it doesn't have big dubs, the hood is functional and the goofy spoiler is factory. but, since you considered that modified even though it is factory, then the yenko Camaro is a huge ricer since all its upgrades were not even factory.

maybe the SLP Camaro SS is a ricer also since it is upgraded out of the factory.

if you still continue to deny my point just because of your opinion of the car and not that it is by definition, not a ricer, I feel sad for you

i hate neons...i've owned one and hated it...but sadly i've seen two videos of new sr4t or whatevers beating C5 corvettes (one was street and the other was the 1/4)

Were the vettes misfiring or something? lol I could swear those things did at least low 13s.

go search you tube or myspace videos...one is a C5 covertible racing street, doesn't get good traction at first and never catches up, and the other is a similar story...I'm praying it's due to bad driving

                              I LOVE my neon!

Went 15.7 with just a cold air kit
                              seen 38 mpg on regular

As for SRT4's being rice..... no, they aren't.

Hell, my bird sounds WAY more like a river than my neon
