So far I've after fixing up the engine (still need some more fixing), I added some mods like ram air, K&N filter, Redline, Mobil Synthetic with 1/2 Lucas additive, and Oselot exhaust along with a high flow cat. The car runs awesome at low end, the torque feels great.
Well today after work I got pitted against this brand new Nissan Frontier. I knew he was gunning for me. The light turns green and I got a jump on him. I kept on pulling till I was 50 mph and the Fiero wasn't pulling hard anymore (3 speed tranny SUCKS!!). On the roll he definately got me. At a full stop, I pulled on him again till I was 45 mph and he passed me because the Fiero has no juice anymore at high rpm. Probably due to poor tranny.
All in all it's not bad. Got home and checked out what a stock V6 Frontier has on the net. It has 261 hp with 283 tq.
My Fiero GT 140 hp with 170 tq. with 170k on the meter; 2480 lbs weight advantage with a 230 lbs driver.
**Disclaimer: By the way I don't recommend street racing. This was done on a country side with a 1/2 mile 3 lane street with no pedestrian, no sidewalk, no traffic, and most of all no cops. Safety is paramount**
So now I plan on dropping a 3.8 V6, a GTP V6 to exact. I'm going to start buying the parts for it little by little so this way my wife doesn't kill me for modding both the Firebird and Fiero. I plan to have it smog legal so I can be OK in Calif. I plan on getting it from this place:
http://www.westcoastfiero.com/engine...auto-noac.html
I'm going to get the mounting brackets, and hopefully later on a stronger tranaxle (will a regular GTP tranny work OK?)
For now I need to buy new wheels, change the whole brakes for stronger ones, change the bushings, shocks, and I might get eibach for it will see.
Hopefully by late next year my Fiero GT will be Fiero GTP!!!
