    Well.. It's OFFICIAL. I'm a RICER!

    Bought the 06' Eclipse today. UV Blue. I AM IN LOVE. I cannot believe the workmanship that Mitsubishi has put into this vehicle. Everything is detailed from the custom "Eclipse" floormats and doorsills to the blue backlighted gauges, billet fuel door, custom lights, sound system (yes, it is the 650 watt Fosgate:banana:), the racing-type seats, 17" wheels, sportronic shifter (auto/stick) and the custom-looking blue paint. It has a power sunroof along with an outside temperature gauge and compass. The lines of the car are VERY attractive. It will make my commuting and everyday driving much more fun. I NEVER in my life thought I would buy a foreign car, but the lack of quality/appearance in American compact cars has forced me to look elsewhere (no offense to anyone)..and well... I now have a "custom" car direct from the factory. Way to go Mitusubishi! :tup: (Btw, the Eclipse is made in the USA.)

    6 airbags: 2 front, 2 side, and 2 in each window pillar (curtain).
    Rear windshield wiper, 4 disk abs, AND the front engine mounts collapse in a head-on impact and drop the motor so that it doesn't end up on your lap. 15.7 cubic feet of space: rear seats fold.. the subwoofer is in the trunk.. did I miss anything? Probably... this thing is loaded to the gills and if you keep looking you find more details or options. WOW.

    Cool. Yea, i think that mitsubishis have improved incredibly in the last 5 years even. My moms got a '04 Lancer station wagon, and i actually quite like that car.

      i'm not the biggest fan of the styling, but man it sounds/looks like a nice car! I've been lately wishing my car had things like you mentioned. Interior seems nice too. Have fun with it! and Congratulations!

        Thanks! Yeah, the styling is similar to the 350Z. It's a little odd if your not use to that look, but it grows on you. Especially when you want something that resembles a sports car. :D

              I definitely think the Eclipses are nice, I just don't like the styling. What's this about the quality of American compacts? I would LOVE to have a new Cobalt to drive around.

                  kid down the street from me as a 06 sucklipse....thing is fugly from my point of view...only dsm that i like is the 98 style...also that front little window thing just pisses me off....i dunno y they did that

                      Now, the hard part is over. You've already admit to being a ricer... So top it off and get that OEM aero package I was talking about. :)

                        Congrats Shirl! ........glad you are happy ........ for some crazy reason i still like the 2000 -2005 models, apperance wise .......i somewhat like the rear end of the new eclipse but the front i hate it ......... they are pretty good car, for a girl that is --haha just kidding ......... you'll find your new car a lot more comfortable than your f-body .......it'll also outhandle any of your f-body .......... did i said it'll have have a waaay better build quality and resale value than your camaros ........haha ......our cars lack so much in those departments, even my dads mazda seems like a MB when i drive it .......... :tup: good choice .....

                          Thanks everyone. I don't regret this purchase ONE BIT. This thing is amazing. I probably should have traded the 02' Camaro convertible too and gotten a convertible 3.8 GT. 263 horses.. but I didn't find a GT in the UV blue. The GS is MORE than adequate though. I didn't realize it's variable timing "learns" your driving style. This morning I merely "touched" the gas and the front tires were lit and spinning. And the sound system is UNBELIEVABLE. Turn the sub up to "6" and the entire car pounds as the rear window is about to shatter. Like it or not, this is what HIGH QUALITY is all about. This car is ****in SWEET. I cannot say enough good things about it. :cool:

                          Btw, Jus, got it for 17,100 with Brand New Front Tires installed. (the originals are almost bald.. and now I know why..lol) It wasn't easy getting them to come down on the price though... took well over an hour. They wanted 19k and the bargaining got loud at one point. :D

                            QFT on all of the above. And yes, it handles like it's on rails. :naughty: Oh, btw, there is a beautiful billet grill you can purchase for the front end and the 2 openings that are under the hood. :drool:

                              Kinda looks like someone took a bug by the front and rear and stretched it a bit... to bad its not awd, but for 17k thats a good bargain.
