i am probably gonna ask the same question, why the hybrid? or in this case Prius? .......You could buy any accord or camry 4cyl which would have been faster than prius .......... here's my point of view on hybrid ........

1. It's new technology...... a lot of ASI techs starting their training NOW........so, if something happens to your car NOW, they will be clueless ........ :tdown:

2. They are overpriced.......not to mention the if the battery goes bad, it's another 4-5k to replace it ........ :tdown:

3. Gas mileage : they are not getting the gas mileage that they printed on the brouchure ..........if a peppy 4cyl accord can get 34-36 MPG ,and a slightly slower civic (which is still faster than Prius) can get 40+ MPG , then 45-50 MPG isn't so impressive for hybrid which is $5-$6k more ........ :tdown:

4. There was a research somewhere, where they took a honda Insight (which is the most fuel efficient car ever) and a civic ........ at the end of the year the fuel consumption difference moneywise was a measly $350 ......... it'll take about 16 years just to be even with a normal 4cyl moneywise since you paid 6K more for the hybrid ............
Ok enough with the negetives .........at the end of the day, you should be happy because you're protecting environment (even though, most of the natural engine Hondas/Toyotas are ULEV -- ultra low emission vehicle) .......

This is just MY opinion on Hybrids .......... enjoy your new car ........deff. good luck on buying the corvette ......... your car was one of the nicest black car ........... you'll miss your camaro , atleast the look and aggressiveness ...........

Btw, did you got the one with "Parking Assist"? ........ ROFL ..........

Well bottom line: Thanks for the compliments on Camaro. I will miss her, but I will enjoy the 'Vette When I get it. I enjoy the Prius for what it is. I know what I was getting when I bought it, and I KNEW what the response from you guys would be. I just figured I'd post up and let you guys know instead of just dropping of the board...

congrats on the new car!!!!! I'm not going to hate someone over preference. Everyone has their own opinions... I don't like imports, but that doesn't mean they aren't good cars... if that was true then their wouldn't be alot of import companies making money. The prius is a car I don't see on the road too much but I've heard alot of people say that they like them so congrats and good luck with gettin the vette.

rofl at you guys telling him he should have gone w/ a 4cyl camry b/c it would be faster... i mean common, a 4cyl camry is still slow. something tells me if he was concerned about 0-60 he wouldnt have gone w/ the prius in the first place.

Although i wouldnt want to buy one, i'll give ya props, its always nice to have a new car

Don't know about you, but I can afford a vette with no problem. It's the damn INSURANCE that kills me! And...I have a clean driving record....

Probably... but i'm sure it'd cost an arm and a leg... that and you'd also be a ricer (in pretty much the full on, strictest sense of the word).

No, but its nice to know that if you suddenly have to swerve out of the way of something that your car would continue careening on in a straight line towards oblivion...

Well another factor was that the Camaro's warranty was about to end. Stuff was going wacky, like I couldn't roll down the passenger window w/the driver's switch, the radio was turning on and off by itself randomly.

Now I know those aren't big things, and could be fixed easily, but again, one of the main factors was warranty. Why have 1 car under warranty and another that's no longer under warranty and then trady the warranty car for another one? At 75k stuff is bound to go a little wacky. Plus, my next step for the car was a turbo... but not at 100+k. I know it can be done, but I didn't want to....

But yes, we did think about keeping the Camaro. My family and friends were SHOCKED.
