It seems like a lot of people have been selling lately. Well this is me joining that group. I'll still be around to whore with the rest of you, but I won't be a f-body owner much longer. I was going to wait a little while to post this, but in light of JusFlyinBy's thread I figured might as well.

I bought a Diamond Grey Metallic Legacy GT last week. I need to get it cleaned up from the last batch of snow and get some more pics, but so far I'm loving it. AWD, heated seats, heated mirrors, and heated windshield wipers are a lot nicer then sliding a Firebird all over the road in the snow.

I haven't sold the bird yet, but I'm going to be getting everything together to do it in the next few weeks. I'm going to miss it, but I need something more reliable and practical for a daily driver. In 2-3 years I would like to get another sports car for fun. Maybe a GTO, C5, or LS-1 swapped rx-7.

    crappy pic:

Copy cat... lol... It's even the same color, haha. Now all you need is a black goat. :)

Very good choice on the GT though. I was dumb. I actually thought I wanted gas mileage over the speed, and is the only reason why I went with N/A. Now im kicking myself in the @ss and decided I am definitley trading mine in for a GT, the Spec B, or some other car with nuts.

Are you going to get the OEM spoiler for it? I had mine installed not too long ago. Call me a ricer, but I think it really helps it out and keeps it from lookin so much like a grandma car.

Wish I could tell you how awesome and reliable of a car it is... ;)

Why bother thinking when I can just follow you around? I'll get working on a GTO and a bike.

Their color selection sucks. I would have gotten world rally blue if it was an option, but I like DGM the best out of what is available.

I was kind of torn on the spoiler when I looked at other cars. I think it looks good from directly behind the car, but I don't care for it from other angles. I hear you on the grandma car thing though. Not many people seem to know what it actually is when they see it.

I want to try to find some BBS wheels from a 04 STi. I hate the stock wheels, but I should probably wait till I kill the tires so I can transfer the tire pressure sensors out of the stockers. I would also like to get a downpipe and move up to stage 2. mmm 280 awhp 300awtq. Curse the urge to mod cars.

Haha, there ya go, leave me to do all the extensive research before buying... And obviously you have good taste in vehicles then, :p

Thats funny too, because I totaly agree with you on the blue. I was disapointed to see the only blue color they offered was some feminine looking lightish blueish whatever.

I dont think the wheels make your car look bad, it just looks more, luxury-ish, classier-ish, instead of sportier. It adds to the grandma-ness is what im trying to say, haha. :D

Good luck with the new purchase, I hope it all works out for you well. You'll miss the fbody but always time to get another sports car. I miss mine tons when we have nice weather, but in the mud I love the truck so much more.

              I like the color

A spoiler and rims would help the car out a lot too

You go with a GT or a Spec B?

Re: Another one bites the dust

They are trying to find me a GT like yours. Seems to be slim pickings around here. I am hoping they turn up with something. Maybe I won't be copying you after all? I opted for an '07 GT because they would not drop the price on the '06 Spec B (ridiculous). The 07 B is pushing 10 grand over my original purchase, so I figured I'd go with the happy medium.

Re: Another one bites the dust

I had a hard time finding anything in DGM. I was looking at one in PA and one in MD then all of a sudden the dealership down the street from me got two in stock. I bought one and the other one sold the day after I reserved mine.

The 6 speed and suspension upgrades of the 07 B appealed to me, but I still don't think they justified the price tag. I don't understand why no one will budge of Spec B prices. Not even 06s. It's retarded.

What kind of prices have people been quoting you?

Subaru's are cool... there the least japanese of the japanese companies imo... mainly cuz they had an Austrailian doing all their commercials for like 5 years.

It's funny how many people actually think subaru is an aussie company because of that.

This particular Spec B, is a new 06, and has 5000 miles on it because the owner of the dealership was driving it. The sticker is approx 35,000 as you know. I told him, 28,000... He wouldn't budge. He said he'd take like 2 grand off for 33. I said stick it. You can get 2 grand off any MSRP on just about any car, especially a 30+ car with barely any hassle. He just got done telling me how he can't get rid of the car, and that it's sat there for a year with no interest from anyone (Yea, great sales technique). Plus I made the point it was driven around, technically used with 5 kmi on it, and guaranteed they skipped the first scheduled maintenance. His defense was "The owner is that gray haired dude right there". I then tore into him for stereotyping. It was quite the heated debate, lol. In the end he goes, I could have gotten rid of it months ago for 28. I go, yup, yet it sits there and rots in your lot. I ended it with, "good luck taking the hit at the auction.".

Long winded reply, but im just amazed they won't budge on sticker for them d@mn things, especially in this case.

Oh, btw, im buying the 07 from another dealer 'cause the Spec B deal ticked me off, lol.
