  • My home-made luge

so... those of you know about street lugeing.. and how you do it... me and some of my buddy's made some so we could go down the huge hills in our neighborhoods around the town... and it is so fun... we have gotten up to 30 mph taking 90 degree turns at like 15 mph.. and on something that is powered by gravity.. thats fun.. but here are some pics

i am 6'2" and weight about 195.... and it handled sweet until...

the last run of the day i was going down a huge straight away.. and my front truck started just getting out of control... wobbling... and i wiped out at full speed... here is the pic of what i found out happened..

the truck broke off and out..

and i wasnt wearing pants.. and look what happened... bad road rash (note the hot tan line)

overall it was fun.. and am getting a new truck today.. and the whole project was free to make! the wood and metal i got from construction site trash.. i used an un-used skateboard trucks, roller-blade wheels and bearings.. and put it all together...

we are gonna start filming.. and i still have to paint it.. but the whole thing is really fun... even after last nights road rash i am going tonight if i can get a new truck.. its a thrill

Haha, yea, that doesn't look much like a trustworthy ride, :).

My friend has been shopping for one but some of the decent ones are worth some big bucks.

yeah.. it is trustworthy just i know why it broke..

i overtightend the trucks.. so i think that craked the metal around the bushing...
they were also off of some wal-mart board

i am gonna get some quality trucks off of a buddy who skates so it will be better

you steer it by leaning one way or another... it works very well, just i now know i over-tightened the truck so the loop snapped, but there are 3 of us here and i am the first street wreck...
