No, people on this site are awesome, go over to FTv6 and see what happens, its bad, they are on over there just to flame on people.

It's hard to believe that any car enthusiast, who is usually obliged to take care of their vehicle, can't put the slightest, if not same effort here. Almost hypocritical.
I feel you, just like bibber, we are all really active members, im here everyday. it gives me something to do. I spent my ten dollars just like every other supporter on here, and nothing has changed since i have been here. yeah, i have only been here for a little over a year, but i am very active, and feel like i have alot to offer people in the ways of v6 knowledge. I have removed/rebuilt/replaced an engine and tranny, as well as alot of other misc. repairs.

I do too, and i do feel like we have a good bunch of fellows here. there was a thread the other day that i was reading where two guys disagreed, and noone was flamed, both made their point and even though they disagreed, it wasnt a homo-online fight.

i agree with you 100% that we need to take a direction to help 5th gens out, but they are only brand new and should any mechanical/other problems arise the dealer will be taking care of that. Plus, they are so new not many people know about them, so we really cant expect to have a knowledgable staff on hand. the 4th gen f bod came out in 1993, 16 years ago.

with all that said, i love this site, and will be a member hopefully for years, but change is totally welcome

Re: are we circling the drain?

I like this site, its the only v6 site that hasn't banned me for some reason or another. Been here about 7-8 years and about 2 years before that just reading posts. I get emails asking questions all the time and I don't mind. There is alot of info on this site and new members I think just don't know how to research it or what to search for. A face lift would be great along with some Mods that are going to be on the site at least every other day to view the posts. I know Robert has alot of work to do esp. travling back and forth from one state to the next every week. Steve I don't know what he is doing haven't seen him here in awhile. I know this site has alot more respect to its members with out using cuss words and and attacking people who don't deserve it. You can only make so many adjustments though if people don't want to sign up then thats the way it is. But with all the V6's out there and people still driving them they will look and find websites to help them, thats why my cardomain site has Firebirdv6.com listed on it , its free advertizement. I signed up about a year ago and it has over 5,000 hits. So thats one way to advertize the site if the members have their own websites for their F-body then put the site down. This way when guys look up V6 F-bodies they will see a place to go for questions. 5th Gen. section is like the 3rd gen section either they will post or they won't. This is still the best site though in my opinion.

Re: are we circling the drain?

Guys, I know where you are coming from. Me and Edgar have been here the longest out of many, we're from the days of having just ONE forum from CZ28.com. It was hell over there. Always with the V8 people jacking around with us. Couldn't get a straight answer for anything other than "Get a V8". I do agree, this site needs MAJOR work, especially when it comes to the 5th gen stuff. But this is mainly the part that Steve has to work on, and Im not sure when the last time he was on here. I have tried and tried to talk to him about selling his half, within the good graces of Robert of course, but to no avail. I don't really know what to do anymore, but this stuff does have to change. We can't keep pushing this stuff back for one person, we need another Admin on this CV6.com side. Steve, if you're reading this, help us.

Ok so I made myself look like an idiot Venom...im sorry :slap: but in a way that goes to show something, we've had a section for some time now and your just now pointing it out to me, I swear I never noticed it. With a facelift the site could definitely see improved new member responses, but im purely speculating at this point see as how ive made a fool of myself :spank:

Re: are we circling the drain?

jeeez i was just reading all these responses, and its about damn time someone started a thread and came forward about the lack of updating on this forum. ive been a member for almost 3 years now and go on this forum all the time, its even my homepage when i startup the internet. When I first bought my Camaro i didnt know alot about my car but when i started browsing around on the forum, I have learned soooo much from you guys, so thanks. I know i dont know alot of you personally (and i hope i get to at some point) but you all seem like great people who are car enthusiasts and have a passion for fbodies, and are always willing to provide feedback and advice/help. I really dont think that there's alot of harassment on here compared to other sites (especially full throttle v6). I agree with those who said even just subtle little changes to the forum layout, maybe new colors or images etc. What about putting sponsors on the top and sides like they do on CamaroFourms and Ls1tech? this is a great forum with alot of good people. Im a supporting memebr right now and would totally be "for" the current inactive admins/owners of the site to sell it to the always active/members who have been on the forum the longest, id even be willing to pay a bit extra in my supporting membership to help out the new owners with taking over the site. Thanks guys and hope this problem gets resolved ~Robby

Re: are we circling the drain?

it is dieing down...I still think this site has the best info, and I always do my primary research on here. I'm down to become a mod or help out with anything that is needed just let me know...the 5th gens need more then just a section for them...thats too general, they need specific sections for specific needs...just like we have.

I would say give them a general tech, advanced engine, and drivetrain section...those posts would most likely get lost in the midst of the posts from our cars...things like apperance and suspension can still go into our section...

and uh...a canadian section would be nice...

Re: are we circling the drain?

It has slowed down quite a bit, even in just the 3 years I've been using the site. Some members disappeared without a trace and others just logged in less and less. It is sad to lose such knowledge and participation, and while it does affect some forums more than others, it's especially hard on one of the originals. Participation from the admins does make a difference in keeping the site active and in check, and updates help to bring in new members as well as keeping the old, even in an "aging market".

Re: are we circling the drain?

To be quite honest, all this talk has me wanting to do my part to help this site keep going. I'd be a supporting member if it meant that someone would take the time to do some TLC. Like has already been posted, I come to this site first for anything v6 related and some v8 since im the proud owner of a built 95 TA now:D, but I will admit for v8 stuff I usually search ls1tech, or lsxltx.

I happen to like all the people here. No one I have seen has been mean to anyone. Go see that at FTv6, which at the same time has hella traffic.

I myself wouldnt mind some advertizing here. Maybe to off set some site costs and open up the sigs. That is one thing that turned me off this site when I first came, the pay for sigs, how lame I thought. But I do understand why and Im not flaiming anyone for it. Just my initial thought when I came here years ago. And Im thinking some other new comers could be turning away because of this, along with the other things that have been mentioned.

Steve hasn't been on here since Oct 20th. I would say that EVERYONE needs to send him a PM telling him your issues, and how they need to be addressed, but if he's not on to look at the PM box, nor email, then its not going to work. I know Robert has probably read this, give him a heads up.

Nate, if you get a chance to read this, I have to ask something of you. PM me immediately.

Re: are we circling the drain?

I can't speak for Steve but after staying here for quite a long time, I have studied him. Steve has a very good career and quite active with some motorcycle and 4x4 activity. This forum is just a small hobby of his. He has no intention of making any money. He runs this site from his own pocket (with small help from supporting membership). This site is STILL one of my favorite site because of the simplicity. It's very simply, easy to navigate and filled with content. I do not like site filled with crazy flash or tons of graphics etc. I run the WORLD'S largest 370Z forum The370z.com but a lot of inspiration was from this site. I kept my site easy and simple. If someone comes to me and says if a forum tooks too simple, it won't go anywhere. WRONG! simpler the forum, more people will sign up and be a part of it. My forum is up only about 11 months and we have already crossed 11, 500 members.

Now the big question is, Can steve turn this site around and make this the no. 1 v6 5th gen site? YES, absolutely. But I don't think he has any intentions to do it. He just want to keep things go just as is. Because he doesn't have financial need to run this site and he will NEVER sell this site to anyone because he has seen what has happen to some of the other sites.

This is just my .02 cents. I'm not sure how correct I am.
