It hink it would be a decent idea...

kind of like the drag racing section, you post your times and knowledgeable people give you tips on what to imporve...

post your dyno sheets and peopel tell you what to improve and such...

Sounds good to me, having a forum might allow for more opinions to be given on the dynos as opposed to just viewing the numbers in a list. What good would the track times page be without the Drag Racing forum?? Having a list and a forum sounds like a worth while use of space.

im not really sure that a dyno page will be good at showing what mods will give you this much hp but i still think its a good idea to have maybe the time slip page modifies to have the hp/tourqe numbers w/ it.

There is nothing illegitimate about a dyno number. Its not so much for bragging rights but to see where you are making the power in a (more) controlled environment. It would be useful for people trying to figure how well their current mods are working and what needs to be improved. For Converters, cams, etc. This can be seen in track numbers of course, but the controlled parameters of the dyno can be a bit less ambiguous.

I'll race you on the dyno at high noon! oh wait... you cannot race on dynos.

I agree dynos are GREAT for tuning, but theyre not for competition, and thats what it will be if there is a "list" made. Kiddos on this list will then have pissing battles on who dynoed the most.

I think a pissing battle on who dynoed higher would easily be won, since its a hard fact, where pissing battles in the lounge about liberal vs. conservative are another story
It would just be cool to see what kind of numbers everyone is putting down... but then again, most people who have ran their car on a dyno put their numbers in their sig.
I bet mine's the lowest horsepower 3.4 vs. money invested!

Its no competition... just to see what people are doing...

to post a dyno number, just make you have to post a dyno graph, so we don'[t have to worry about liars, and we can see the curves not just peak power...

I mean lets say a guy is bone stock except for a slp rockers and he got a 75 hp increase... woudl make me consider to get them(yes the numbers I mentioned are exaggerated and not real but jsut to get the point)

Well if we are going to base everything on what some dumbases will eventually do, then we might as well not even have any board for discussion. I don't think your argument that it will be misused is enough to scrap the whole idea.

i think a page more similar to the timeslips page would be more appropriate.. but perhaps a page that can be elaborated on.. with people posting gains per mod

I think that would be kind of difficult... to do .

would be nice though. But a forum about it might not be too bad...
