Is there any hope in the future for an upgrade to the forums? Mail notices when we get replies to threads. Private messaging?? Something like a Vbulletin forum? We have more traffic than a lot of sites out there, i think everyone would pitch in for a better forum. Not like this one is completely horrible. I just think if we had PM's and Mail Notices and that kind of stuff our board would look more appealing.
I really liked the PMs when we had them. I know we all have email and that is preferred by the admins but sometimes it a lot easier, especially when I am at work and cannot check my email address listed here, to send and recieve PMs. Most other message boards have them... I don't think that they would cause that big of a stress on the server. Just a thought.
You can get notices for replys just check your profile. Don't know if you can set if for just one thread or all of them you post in thought. As for the PM thing I beleive when they upgraded the board last they tried it between the admins and mods, but for some reason they turned it off. ;)

No need to upgrade, this software supports those features we just don't allow them.
Why is that you ask? Other sites with comparable traffic have a lot more sponsors so they can afford to pay for the extra server load that more sophisticated features generate. Look at the typical V8 site... ten times as many members as us but they don't whore like you brats do... and they have TONS of sponsors, we only have a select few that cater to the V6. So we are forced to cut back... we can only use the features we can afford.
Heck, we can't even turn on the "recent visitors" feature--we tried that for a week and the load went through the roof. We're not about to pay a thousand dollars a month for server use just because you guys want more toys. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
