    i think this post could really help reduce some of the post whoring/bandwith wasting that has been going down lately in the General Tech forum

    Um, the reason why that forum is full of nonsense asked questions is because theres a bunch of people who want to be noticed on this board and therefore say whatever they can to get some "thread time" because they want to "fit in." They're too incompetent, lazy, or shy to post in any other forums where actual thinking (besides lounge in some cases) is needed. It's a way for them to feel like they're making a difference in some way or another to this site.
