NEED ADVICE

Unsure as to why my thread was closed? I'd like to continue the thread. I re-read all the responses and confused as to why it would have been locked??

Of coarse I've discussed it with her. She said she'd "wouldn't mind driving it around while i tried to sell it" I also said in my original post I was going to keep it in my name, it's not a gift. Even if I continue letting her use it, it's still mine.

My question was if anyone thought if her dad would be offended. She frankly doesn't care if it offends her dad, nor does she honestly know. I needed outside opinions, ecspecially from someone thats older who has children around 18-24 years old.

I am a member of several different car forums, and have asked the question at each one to get the most responses, and this forum was the only one to lock the thread. Members here sometimes need the "outside opinion" alot of times they can't ask real life friends or family. Due to their envolment in the situation/problem. Not so much speaking of my situation but others from the past that I can remember. The anonymity of posting here, online is exactly what people need in certain situations.

But apparently moderators feel peoples feelings may get hurt?? Then in turn may leave or stop visiting the forum? What happens if someone has a problem and their thread gets locked, I'd think that would be equally, if not more so unappealing to the website. Turning people away with car related problems is not what the forum is about. Why should the lounge be any different?

Also could this lack of interaction on personal events, be a reason why the board has slowly become less active? People will general gravitate to wherever they feel most helped or wanted, on a personal or technical level.

I feel this forum is full of helpful and knowledgeable people, and have enjoyed being a member here. But I personally feel if someone on the board wants/needs to share something personal it shouldn't be locked, but should be open for discussion.

I'd like the mods to discuss it between themselves, as I think it would be a nice option for members (if they wish) to get the "outsiders view" as it may be their only outlet to a fair and balanced opinon or different views into thier situation.

you've failed to mention whether or not you've e-mailed the admins/mods on why the thread was locked. I'm suprised I didn't see a response saying that the gf's family might need to see counseling.
