Re: question about supporting member status

You know what would solve this problem? SPONSORS! Holy ****ing **** Im smart. But im guessing you don't have sponsors because your board is ****ing outdated and full of retarded members giving advice. Its ****ing retarded to collect money to use a website, I thought that kind of stuff was reserved for porno site, not car forums. Get it together fellas, get some ****ing sponsors to pay for your board not members. And for gods sake update the ****ing colors in this place, Christ
      and

This is actually similar to the reasons www.fullthrottlev6.com became so popular. Most of the people over on www.fullthrottlev6.com left here in search of a place that wouldn't bann everyone who dissagreed and other problems that arose in the era of stephen. This will probably be another mistake and will probably cause a second exodus to www.fullthrottlev6.com. Getting sponsors and giving everyone features like www.fullthrottlev6.com would be a wise decission but I don't see it happening.
these are the reasons i refuse to post there and probably never will.

i do too, id like to post there from time to time, because there are some members there id like to catch up with, but the negativity toward here stops me. i signed up there when it first got up and running, soon after the cv6 sucks crap started and i peaced out. i dont go to a board to listen to them piss and moan about another. its the same reason i dont go to ls1tech anymore or ls1.com.

If you guys want I'm sure I could convince fullthrottlev6.com to sponser you. I've heard those guys do good things for the community.

Re: question about supporting member status

Guys.. No one here is about the past. It's just that, the PAST. The era of Stefan has past. Robert and myself run this along with a great team of moderators (yes, that's an opinion, but it's mine :D)

They started their site with different reasons than those of us that began this. We all came from CZ28.com. We got their blessing, more than once. I'm still personal friends with both Jason and Chris from CZ28. We saw an oppurtunity to make a community that would grow and educate. I still feel we do that best.

No.. we don't put up with much BS. I've been around the web and see the postings of lots of BS. From import sites to domestic to cycles. Every place has it's own little "feel" to it. I think Robert would agree that we try to keep this as peaceful and productive (in the educational sense) to the membership. Yes, we all vent.. that's for the lounge. But we try to keep that clean too. I know a lot of you guys have kids and a lot of kids are ones now getting these cars. Just the other day one of my moto friends called me asking for pointers about a V6 camaro drop top he and his son were going to look at. I told him what to look for (things I've learned here, since I don't have a drop top) and told him to poke around here when he was done. His son is 16. I don't want young men and women coming here and seeing flaming threads, boobie pictures or leg humping. There's a time and place for that. Here is not it.

If you want those type of things, please...don't think you'll find it here. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I would rather have 500 good members than 5000 bad ones. I've come to be friends with lots of members here. Why, because it's the family feeling I get when I converse with them. It's the comradery (SP?) I have when a group of us can get together and talk about things from cars to politics without killing each other.

On some of the other sites that I'm a member of, I've been known to contribute as much as I can with knowledge or money. I've meet those admins and moderators in person. And feel that same sense of family even though I don't see them every day. Many of them would give me the shirt of their own back to help me if I needed it. That makes a community!

I dont mind the $10 to support the site, but its how noone can put up with anything. Like a week or so ago i look in the lounge and theres 8 locked posts on the front page, and most of them i dont even see why they are locked. How about when you lock something there atleaast has to be a reason by the locker...or instead of locking it just edit posts so we can still discuss the subject at hand...not ot much to ask is it?

I seen those threads too and I am not sure what happened and was curious. I dunno if someone did it that was a mod or somehow someone else got into the system and was able to do it because those threads were nothing to lock or be worried about. Like a glitch or something, I dunno.

yes I personally do not see why some where locked either but thats life. I think the lounge has been running really lose lately either due to the mods not around much or they are laxing on the rules and ways we have been doing things for years. I would love to see an update. We need someone who has been around a few years and is currently frequent so all these drunk posts, whoring and out of control topics are shut down. we used to never allow post like political stuff and such things to even get off the ground because they usually always lead to fights. now we have threads that used to be locked go on forever

                      good example

I don't get to see all the threads... so I'll have to monitor the lounge again and see what's happening. If changes need to happen, they will be made.

As for the politics and other topics. Those were really locked down because of someone else's personal views. I don't mind an ADULT debate about any subject. If it is seen as going south, it's known that it should be locked.

ReodDai- you answer that question. Go back and read a few of my posts in this thread and tell me your opinion. I'm not against keeping my paycheck so you guys have to see banners all over the place...

I know you don't and you shouldn't have to look at every single thread on this board. Thats what mods are suppose to do IMO. I try to read every single post in my intake/exhaust section every time I come on to maintain things and also to simple gather info and stop people from spreading bad. Thats at least what I believe to be my responsibility

I just want to also say I am not trying to bash the current mods of the lounge. they are great people and are members who have been around for ever, it's just that people get schedules and families and sell their cars...some people just can't come on the site everyday and someone rarely come at all. I'm just lucky cause I'm still in college and have an 8-5 kinda job.

well this kind of went off topic, but oh well. thanks for the response tealv6, i agree with some of what you said, but ultimately its not up to me, its not my board. either way im sticking around. if theres anything i can ever do to help out the site, id be glad to do it.
