Buyer/Seller Rating system

I have bought and sold stuff here in our "for sale" and it was a very pleasant with the experience...... i wanted to leave a feedback for the seller so that in the future he/she could be trusted ....... but i couldn't do it because we don't have a feedback system ......... Having a feedback system, it helps alot of skeptical buyers buying from different sellers ...........

I am suggesting 2 different methods and you (Steve) can adopt whatever is easier for you .......

1. The first one would be a ***** star system which would go under the avatar .......i am not quite sure if Vb gives you that option or not .....so, you know the answer!

2. The 2nd or most easier one would be, a sticky thread above for sale section that'll have members name in alphabetical order with the numbers next to it showing their status ..........every time there is a transaction, the buyer and seller would reply to that thread ......as the mod will update the name, he will delete the post and keep the sticky clean .....for example, DAS BOOT has shipped the item +1 or Vanbibber has payed for the item +1 .......

I know it would be extra work for the for sale mod but i am sure there are plenty of people who can give wes a hand if needed ..........

Again, this just an idea ........need to know you guys feedback ........in the next post I am going to post an example how the page gonna look with rules and directions

Red: User in the "0" or negative range
Black: User in the positive range

Users will be rated on both "pick up" and "shipping" scenarios as some members have had better dealings in person.

Each positive entry will be treated as a "+1" and negatives as "-1". These will be entered for "Pick up" , "Shipping" and "Payment"

Please spell the seller or buyer's name correctly (don't guess their spelling. Copy and paste if you're unsure). I cannot assign points if I don't know who or what to add to.

Points will not be given if members do not mention why they deserve the point (ship, pick-up, payment, etc). Points will not be added if buyer/seller tries to add points for themselves. Please ask the buyer/seller to post up if you think you deserve points. Comments are optional, but it won't be attached (update) to the points you see above.

GOOD EXAMPLE:
+1 to TealV6 for shipping me the intake lid

BAD EXAMPLE:
V6teal was cool and things went smoothly.
Who is V6teal (name spelled wrong) and what did he do (Ship, payment or pick-up)?

Members who give themselves points for shipping the next day or made a quick payment will not be added. Points will only be added if the buyer/seller posted that info up. (PM the seller/buyer to leave you a feedback)

Please post up with your experiences. I will then update the list accordingly and then delete your post.

What seems to work well at another MUCH larger scale board I frequent.... (PBNation.com)... Make an entire new section labeled Buyer/Seller Feedback. A user can make a thread in there and just link people to it to leave or read feedback. Works great. Here's mine for example.

I haven't ran into any scammers and I've sold stuff on here and everything has been just fine, it would just give a little more sense of security

yea I am for a trader rating as well. There is an add on for the boards we use here that allows for it to be added below peoples names under on the left of their posts

I'm definitely cool with the idea. On an unrelated note.... while checking my public profile, I saw that I have 1 referral. What is a referral on here, and how does one give another member a referral?
