Do I know anything about exhausts? Yes, I do. Not my strong point, but I know enough about them. Could I moderate it, I would like to, always have wanted to moderate a tech forum.

BTW, I managed to change out a ball joint, change the oil, and rotate my tires in a gravel driveway in under 45 minutes.

If you want to know how to install headers, make sure your mating surfaces are clean and aren't warped. Get rid of the paper gaskets, grab some fel-pro or MLS gaskets (id prefer MLS because they crunch down better on both the head and header mating surfaces). When you weld, or have to weld, the y-pipe to the intermidiary pipe, clean both the inside of the y-pipe and the outside of the intermidiary pipe (the 2" or so of pipe coming from the cat), clean it of rust, oil, and whatever else. Ceramic is a little more tricky to weld, so it has to be clean, or the weld can break. Have the pipes welded, U-clamps are only for temporary use. Since the pipes come CLOSE to the starter on 3.8l, I suggest some kind of heat wrap for either the starter OR the y-pipe, to keep the heat off the starter.

What I meant was that a lot of info will confuse the original poster. A perfect scenario would be ... someone posts a question and everyone chimes in and gives him suggestions on what to do. Now, at this point the OP is confused. Now this is where a MOD comes in and highlights the correct/easiest/best reply (or just adds his reply) and solves the Orig. posters problem. This way Orig. Poster got the suggestions from everyone but went home with the best answer form the MOD. This is just what I think. Feel free to correct me. I don't mind if Wes becomes mod or whoever. I just want someone knowledgeable there who frequents this board. period.
