it would be great to have 1 big site or so like jegs, summit racing, thunder, zzp etc.
you can forget those first two...LS1tech tried to get them as sponsors, but even a site that large with that many active members, doesn't register on Jegs or Summit's radar; companies that huge don't need internet message boards to drum up sales
revamping of the site once again as a ton of stuff is outdated. Then Admins have to just add banners and such of paying sponsors. Not going to lie though, sponsors like to see active sites with active management. Not just a site that likes to BS in the lounge and post whore
Im at the end of my rope here. I don't know what else to do, mainly in Robert and Steve's hands now. I can moderate, but thats the extent of my limits. Until Steve and Robert show genuine interest in this board again, we won't see sponsors.
1995 Pontiac Firebird
2008 Chevrolet Silverado LT Crew Cab 4x4
I think getting some sponsors would be a good idea, I could see CV6 picking up then. Right now we are in a sort of dull state. Even though I just stated everything everyone in this thread has posted. Someone should get in touch with the admins and see why they have been neglecting the board now.
i think we just need a good solid sponsor to take a chance on this board, of course that would incur the work of the admins to get this up and running...
i mean we can sit here and jabber about how we want this and that but if the admins don't pay heed or actually care about it, there really is no point.
ls1tech, pssh, this site cannot even keep up with fullthrottlev6.com let alone something like ls1tech.
I was waiting for someone to say it...
LS1tech has thousands of active members...and there's what, 15 or so here? Half of which are the staff, and the other half being those who pay for cute signatures and a private forum or two?

It's their call- It's their site.
And I don't see them passing any responsibilities off, or selling the rights to site to anyone who might have more time for it. I respect Steve and Robert for all they've done, and I understand that they have a life outside of the board. But that's when you pass things on IMHO
this board has alot of good information. with a few good sponsors this site could easily be just as good as ls1tech
This board has alot of good info in a few members.....but this board is also falling apart. Unless we start to do things to get attention, and start doing things to get it going again, it's not going to be much.
I suggest we treat it with more of a club atmosphere. but that's another discussion in itself, and if someone wants to make a "how to improve cv6" thread, I will wholeheartedly supply you with a three thousand word response of my input, but I am not opening that can of worms

You all know I hate to say it, but he's right there.

thats not entirely true, jegs has been a sponsor for years of daytonfbody.com and i cant remember for sure, but i want to say we had summit for a while as well.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it
i dont see summit or jegs sponsoring here. hell the last sponsor we had here to my knowledge... never had anyone from here make a purchase. besides that, theyre geared toward v8s anyways, the v6 stuff they have is pretty basic stuff and it wouldnt be worth thier time or money to advertise.

Add a V8 Section? I know it says V but maybe a V8 section just to get some sponsors?
no, that would defeat the purpose and people would still turn to sites like ls1tech, and cfm for v8 info and discussion.
the whole point is to have always been the v6 f-body resource.
bottom line is only a select few people will ever choose a 3800 v6 over an LT1 or LS1 or other v8 engine. unfortunetly, we are further limiting those few select people down to a VERY limited number of persons by the lack of upkeep on the board, the lack of a good, UPDATED modification and technological resource (we've learned alot about v6's since the last update), and for lack of a better way of putting it, some members on here aren't exactly the most polite or most helpful. When someone new asks a question, someone usually makes either a. a smarta$$ed remark toward the person, thus making them feel unwelcome, or b. just says "search it n00b", as if you are too good to just answer the persons question. WHO REALLY GIVES A **** HOW MANY TIMES SOMETHING HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP. if something that minute bothers you, i suggest you take a couple days of vacation for some personal alone time. Just take the five minutes and answer the person's question. It will go a long way to making the person feel welcome, and feel like this is a valuble resource for information as well as a fun place to discuss things.
you wanna make CV6 better?
Change the damn banner. Dave's already working on getting it done, but people notice even the smallest changes. Changing the banner would show people that we're really starting to switch things up.
Organize more events, both locally and nationally. Dyno days, car shows, track meets, and thing like F-body week are great for gaining publicity and forge a sense of camraderie among existing board members. It feels good to know that the person on the other side of the cat5e cable is a real person.
I'm putting together the calendar, but things along those lines would really get people involved! Make CamaroV6.com window stickers. Come up with a t-shirt and have it printed, when people see it, they will visit it. It's a way for you to represent, and it's also publicity for the site!
Revamp the mod encyclopedia. Some of the stuff in there isn't produced anymore. Some more stuff has also come out. We need to work on being a good resource again instead of a bunch of post whoring dudes talking about bib's junk (no offense intended, but new people visit this site primarily for information)
Get more technical information about our cars and put it up for public availibility. sure, we can't just copy a haynes manual onto our site, but wouldn't it be nice to have a chart to show you exactly what that sensors value should be in a proper operating capacity?€
we need to work on getting our active members MORE involved aand getting our non-active members involved again. Perhaps a monthly or weekly newsletter letting people know what's going on at camarov6. People who are no longer interested will leave the site, people still interested will discover that this place still has a little life left.
Sponsors would help. People like saving money, so group buys, and special deals for members only will def. get things rolling..(SUPPORTING MEMBERS RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT OFF YOUR NEXT ITEM PURCHASED AT GRAND VALLEY PERFORMANCE) stuff like that. not only do we gain supporting members and more views, GVP would gain more business from the simple "sale" theory...
these are just a few ideas I have, I am more than willing to do my part, but we need to get the ball rolling somehow, and we all know who's court it is in right now.
