hahah...I think the cam sound is probably that 10 second car beside me lol...or he may be behind me waiting to stage (depending which video you are talking about)...I dont think that sound was me...but maybe lol
eh does anyone know why cars begin revving before they get into the staging lanes? and at the line...like the 10 second car I raced in the video was reving a couple times before he lit the last stage light...and I frequently hear the older muscle car guys revving there engines up in the lanes...is there a benefit to this? or is it just to make some noise lol?

I maybe wrong but dont you need to constantly rev a little bit if you have a big block so that they dont choke out and cut out? I remember hearing that somewhere

congrats on getting into the 13's. asuming your running dr's?
people also purge nitrous through the intake system instead of wasting it just to look cool like most..and you HAVE to rev the motor with a purge setup like that.
edit : really big cams dont like to idle low either, again if your talking a older carb'd cars its more common

its usually the older cars I see/hear revving...and that 10 second car I ran...I never know what these guys are running or if they are spraying or not...never get a chance to talk to most of em... interesting to know why they do it now though...I just kinda found it a bit intimidating before...
Im running bias ply mickey thompson radials ya...11.5', so they are actually a little too much for my setup at the moment I think...thats why I ran them with I think 31-32 psi on those runs...I found I was really dieing out on the top end...still, when I ran my 14.1 the weekend prior with the same psi I ran almost a 96 mph... these runs I lost about 1.5 mph and I am still not sure why...
very very interesting, I knew they were reving it for an important reason. It must be those silly stupid ricers in honda civics that continuously rev the piss out of there little vtechs just to impress the integra or sentra sitting next to it

with the 96mph trap, im guessing you didnt 60 foot as hard right? its not uncommon to lose 1-2 mph with a better launch. dont be discouraged by it at all, et's show how the car is actually going down the track, mph just shows if the car is making power.
