you could also delete the egr if you have a way to tune it out. remove the washer fluid resevoir as well as gettin rid of the fluid weight involved with that. like was said before A/C if not used, spare tire and jack for sure. those are good places to start for cheap. if you get money saved an aluminum driveshaft can be had for under $150. if youre really serious an aluminum radiator. hotchkis i believe has light weight sway bars. the list goes on and on

You can usually pick up a hollow 32mm sway bar from ls1tech for fairly cheap...nice upgrade for handling, and save a few lbs as well...

I switch my ST35mm sway bar 34lBS for a 32mm hollow sway bar that was 10LBS, shaved another 24lbs off the front. Also all the plastic covers underneath and heat sheilds, cruise control delete, stock resisvoir switch to a 1 Qt. ALM. tank. , 10lb Dyna Batt. , Tubular K and upper, lower A arms chromoly along with all other suspension parts, ALM driveshaft, fiberglass SS hood and spoiler, cut the exhaust before the axle, !front bumper, windsheild res., !rear seats , light weight front seats/brackets(Spearco), light weight carpet, headers, !spare tire jack, QA-1 shocks and springs, rear drums swaped to disc brakes, front Prostar rims/tires(30LBS compared to 51LB ZR1 rims/tires). Planned rear bumper support , air bags, heater core, maybe !ABS, front & rear glass replaced with Lexan glass . Thats my list.

                    Re: simple weight reduction

I want the scratch resistance ones from VFN, I don't think the emissions people will notice anything, they just plug the OBDII port in and check the gas cap(don't even pop the hood). Plus mine is only check every 2 years so its not too bad. I was planning on tinting the top portion of the window just like stock and limo the back like I do now. I drive maybe twice a week to get meds and go to the DR.'s so not alot of driving, plus after my surgeries it will sit for 3-6 months first surgery and then for about a year for the second surgery(6 months in bed all most all the time). Hell they could screw my lower back up and I could not be able to walk or drive my car. The nerves are already going out, and I'm missing 2 support bones and all the degeneration of the discs. So I want to get the most out of it. LOL

lol...I actually never understood why the lexan glass would be street legal anyway...Ive been looking to maybe do the same thing though...From what I remember its like 35lbs for the front and 35lb for the rear that you save....

                        Re: simple weight reduction

Thats what I'm thinking 1/8th" MR10 scratch resistant, front and rear for $650, I need a new front windsheild and the rear window the black seal is coming off around the window so it would be a perfect time to do it and know a guy who installs windsheilds so labor would be like $100, then about $100 for tint.

does that front glass look different in any way? Your gunna have to snap some pictures when you get it, Ive been wanting to do this eventually, but only if I can pull it off past safety...

Lexan is a horrible idea for a car that sees any street use. I would especially not replace the windshield.

I drive on the street about once a week about 15 miles to the Dr. or pickup meds and back. LETZRIDE , I'll find a 3rd gen that has Lexan and you can see how it looks. Once the rear is tinted you can't tell and for the front I would tint the top of it like the factory windsheild. If I get in a wreck , I'll be dead anyway if it sets off the air bag and hits me in the head becuase of my blood thinners , I would bleed out internally from the hit the air bag hitting me, or my brain would swell up and I'm done within 10 mins. So the saftey featues I could care less about glass, air bags and ABS. But other people should be concerned if DD.
