Went to the track saturday the 11/20/2010 to see what the truck would run got and ended up getting 3rd place and the semifinals trophy. pretty exciting.
Best was a 16.09. Im takin the shell and tailgate and subs out and try and get into the 15's this saturday. ($15 to race and 12 to watch so come on out)
Caution light. mustang dropped some fliuds. had to wait a few minutes
Hahahah! I did the same thing with my slow *** 02 in the stock class. Semi-Finalist trophy too, lol! I think it's fun as hell going down the track in whatever.
I'm conflicted. On one hand, I love drag racing, which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone on this board. I like to see people getting interested and having fun. However, and this isn't directed at the OP, I hate lifted trucks on mudders attempting to drag race. Everytime I see this at the track, everyone of them has massive wheel hop which knocks loose all the dirt and crap under the bed from the last trip to the mud pit. Don't even get me started on the diesels. I don't mind stacks, since it tends to disperse the particulate a little better, but regular exhausts just direct particulate straight to the track thus negating any trackbite. What really grinds my gears is that tracks are selective to enforce the rules about this. NHRA and IHRA rulebooks both dictate any competition entry must be clean and free from debris which may be deposited on the racing surface. Just a rant, don't mind me. Congrats on the trophy.

Well excuuuuse me for being being curious about my trucks times and wanting to have fun. Some ppl say the same things about v6 muscle cars. No wheel hop and no mud falling off my truck. I had a lot of fans , ppl here enjoyed looking at the truck and watching it run.
Im sorry THEY ruin or make your track dangerous. Ill inform other truckers to keep their shiit clean wehn they go to the track.
Took off the shell, tailgate, subs, other junk and reached my goal. I hit 15.85 then 15.89
Some one blew their engine so we had to run 8th mile. Weeeeelll I came in 4th place out of 38+ cars. I was off my dial by .0057. i was doing great with my times. My last run i dialed .09 and ran .10. i lost somehow lol had fun, would have another tropghy but someone was in the bye run lane so they got it sinch i lost. shiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Unfortunately, reaction time has a lot to do with winning. I like that dynamic though. I've won a few races by trying to "mess" with people at the line and they jump the gun with a nice red light. I like to think it was because of me but eh, who knows.

I know I typed a lot, but if you had bothered to read it, I said it wasn't directed at you. Please replace your tampon and re-read. I gave ya props. I'm always positive and willing to help anyone get into drag racing. Wait until you find index racing, that's a whole other level of fun. I've run a local 12.60 index with my Camaro, and love being able to tree someone, get WAY out on them, and just coast after the 1/8th which usually causes them to break out.
How do you mess with someone at the line? I can barely see the car beside me when I'm lined up...
It's usually either wait forever before you pull up to the beams or get there really fast. People get antsy if they have to wait at the tree forever. I think at norwalk you have like 10 or 20 seconds to get up to the tree after the other guy has passed the first beam before your DQ'd.

I don't get into the mind games. I just do my own thing, and then courtesy stage.
