The new Billet Crank is 1800. I might just go with that and use the guts from a GTP (Pistons and Rods) and get new bearings all around. This is all in my head though, as my small military income does not satisfy my hunger :(
It isn't the fastest all motor, but I did hold the NHRA SS/DS and SS/CX National records until "Life" got in the way and I parked the car. There are other cars running in Comp and lighter V-6 Super Stock classes that run quicker ET's
It is a 277 cu in 750 Holley in SS/DS it's weight is 3185 and in SS/CX it ran at 3400 lbs in the vedio I was running a 1.98 low gear powerglide. I have switched to a 3 speed proflite w/a lower gear and gone quicker. The 60's dropped from 1.34 to 1.28
I never had it on a RW dyno, but on our engine dyno it made 660 hp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZPI6eCN8pE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydKaD...eature=channel

It's not the heads that wear out it is the springs. The near .900 lift intake springs go down in pressure pretty quick. Usually rotate them to the ex side after about 12-15 runs. That is every couple of races. When we ran 18 degree heads we turned them 10,200 and they liked it. The splayed valve makes more power and at not so high an RPM. They increased torque. It is no different than any good Comp engine. Wish I could figure out the picture deal. I'm not too sharp with these forums. :~(

It is a GMPP bowtie block version of 4.3 The best we have run is the 9.68 run @ 3185 lbs
No Nos, just a class rule required 780 vac carb. We did the 9.68 testing the new DC (david cook) Carbs 780 (3310) over the tried and true 750 (4779) Davince Holley.
277 cu in with 660 Engine HP.
