  • Time to break a few records

Unfortunately I think they'll just be some personal bests.

Plan is to hit the strip either tommorrow (friday or Saturday)...It seems to look like it is going to rain saturday so there is a heavy possibility that I'll be going tommorrow.

Already off to a bit of a bad start...my ET streets have a crack in the sidewall so Ive had to borrow my buddy's radials off his vette. MAN these things are heavy...each tire comes in at a hair over 55lbs, vs my radials on my prostars at about 38lbs.

These things are going to EAT my hp being added rotational mass.

Goal is still to shoot for low 12's.

Qa1 setup is all wonky to. Fronts are on the softest setting (1) because my dial jammed. Rears I have set to 4 or 5. I'll probably stiffen that up a bit more, but the fronts are going to kill weight transfer.

Should have a camera or two rolling, so hopefully the only thing I break this time is my previous best...well, and I wanna beat up on Transamtom's LS1 :D...the odds keep stacking against me here.

Alright, lets build up some suspense. Any takers on the timeslip?

Tom, you keep that rain in niagara.

I'm actually going to be out in hamilton from 2-3pm for the new stadium announcement out there, so I'll hopefully get an idea of the weather.

I'll fire you and Tony a text later today. I think it's going to be tonight, tommorrow and sunday shows rain.

I'll be coming back, grabbing my car, and going back up, so hopefully traffic plays nice.

Hahaha, look forward to seeing you guys there. I won't be leaving until about 6. So you might be able to get a practice run in without me ;)

Re: Time to break a few records

lololol. Well I'll still be looking for 12's next year.

Got 3 runs tonight (all 3 on video from both angles of the track) Thanks Tony.

Nothing could really go right tonight. Started off stuck in traffic, got there late. Showed up, bolted the slicks on, laptop was dead.

Line up, Im so nervous I can't find the linelock button to do my burnout (it's beside the SGS). I missed the water box, hit the SGS, do theeee worst burnout possible, almost overshoot the beams except I SLAM on the brakes and skid to a stop just in time and just in the beams LOL. Take off with SGS still on <<<<rookie move

              run a 13.5

Next two runs aren't much better. Theyre both 13.4 runs (13.455 and 13.430)

              best and final timeslip was:

              60' ... 1.840
              330... 5.481
              1/8... 8.535
              MPH... 80.32
              1000... 11.188
              1/4... 13.430
              MPH... 100.77

Now, I wasnt able to log on Hp tuners due to the laptop being dead. But I did notice the first two runs I was shifting early. I had my charger there, so I snuck over to a wall outlet and bumped the shifts up to 6300rpm from 5900rpm (didnt seem to matter)

I did notice on my last run when I finally looked at my afr Gauge I was running LEAN, the top of second I was 14-15.2 afr which is nuts, most of 3rd I was 13.8

Not sure why it leaned out on me as opposed to last week when I verified and adjusted the tune. When I saw it lean out I remained in it (probably dumb) but I didn't see any KR on the aeroforce gauge. Now, that is wayyyy too lean, and I'll definetly pick up some time richening that tune back out.

What baffles me at this point (and is probably related to the above) is when I blew the motor back in 2010 I made 3 passes that day all with problems and having to lift off the throttle atleast once. ALL 3 passes I trapped 85mph in the 1/8th, yet tonight I could only trap 80mph. Not sure where that 5mph loss is coming from yet, but that is huge.

I blame it on the heavy *** rims :D

looks like I'll have to nab those 12's next year :(

On the bright side, 13.4 is a new personal best, and I DIDN'T break anything

Videos will be up as they become available

Re: Time to break a few records

It was nice seeing you there Mike,at least it didn't break.

Time for a 6L LS engine;)

My friend Andy's Camaro SS M6 with a 6L cam only traps 117-119.

He has a stock 10 bolt so he can't leave hard but its a mid 11 sec car.

Here are my best 3 of 5 runs last night:

Well the old girl still has it and maybe more 1/2 tank 20psi and the new tune.

                  1st pass 1.756 60ft 1/8 7.878 at 88.40 1/4 12.342 at 110.40

                  2nd pass 1.825 60ft 1/8 7.892 at 88.39 1/4 12.321 at 111.37

                  3rd pass 1.756 60ft 1/8 7.875 at 88.64 1/4 12.325 at 110.66

I ran 2 more times but no traction 12.5 at 110xx

I am going to take the front SB off and run the Hoosiers next time.

Got one video from a buddy of mine so far. It is the 13.43 pass.

                        nothing special...nice burnout though.

Video is up folks. I shot 3 runs from the other side of the track. It was chilly and I was shivering a little so excuse the slight shake in the video.
