Just curious what you guys would think my 1/4 time might be.
96 3.8 Camaro
-new 235/55/R16 tires
-K&N with large hole in airbox and removed silencer
-Flowmaster series 40
-Bosch Series 40 spark plugs and a brand new wireset
-Automatic
I agree with Jordan. 3.08's .. lol.. I had 3.08's ran 15.5.. switched to 3.42's and ran a 15.1 first time out.
TPS TECH won't help you at the track at all. TPS tech tricks the PCM into thinking the PCM is wot before it actually is.. its better for part throttle acceleration. Drag strip is all full throttle.

3.08's, dont go to the track

I disagree w/ navyblue2000.
Go to the track no matter what kinda gears u have!
I have stock 3.08's and im runnin 15.3's consistently in 60 degree weather. Went up there w/ a buddy who had a grand prix gt and the same day he was runnin consistent 15.4's.
He went to the track 2 weeks later when it was roughly 35-40 degree's and he was runnin 15.1's all day.
I know if i hit 30 degree weather i'll hit 15.1's w/out a problem!
So dont listen to them.
Not every car is built the same. Some are stronger, some are weaker. I'm runnin better than some guys that have 3.23's and 3.42's, so hit the track and hope for the best. Good luck.

3.08s of course, lol
I hear you have to switch out the rear axle to get 3.42s. (I guess this might also get me rear disks :D ) This is probably expensive to have done. What exactly would this process involve? Where could i get it done? I guess i couldnt do it myself?
PS ill probably go to the track anyway :)
just to beat up on the ricers
hey man, sorry about that comment. track isn't so much about goin fast, it's about havin fun. goin fast is secondary. again, i apologize for the comment
umm... no affense but the tps tec does help at the track, when disconnected i noticed i was .1 slower in the 1/4 i connected it and i was .1 faster so from my "testing" it worked.
