• Explanation for my crappy times?

Heres what i have...

2000 auto v6 camaro
3.42 gears, and limited slip
rksport intake, k&n filter, rk sport headers, high flow cat, borla cat back, and the fiber glass SS hood with functional ram air.

Im runnin a 9.9 at 70.83 mph in the 1/8, i havent been able to do the 1/4. My 60' is 2.2

Any ideas? I mean, some people with less than i have are runnin 9.5-9.7 Is it something stupid like plugs and wires or is it just my car? Thanks in advance.

Hey Zach! Are you kidding? those times are great! Altitude may be a factor as well..try stalling higher before and since u have LSD, you shouldnt have too much traction problems. Good luck!

and yes, my reaction time on that one is horrid beyond beleife, however we all know that doesnt affect 1/8 times.

you could shave at LEAST 2 tenths off your 60 ft.
that would get you to about 9.5

9.9, you could do better then that. I would say its mid 15s.

Do not worry about altitude, some parts of Florida are even below sea level. highest altitude in Florida are the city dumps.

you could imporve, I have really really crappy tires on my car and I can pull 2.1XX 60's you could get some 2.00 60's, with your setup, granted I have a little more gearing but you have the power advatage over me.

powerbrake it up to the point to where when you let off and go you just about spin, that will help your 60's. Deflate your rear tires a bit to help with the traction, not to much but some. I go around the waterhole, and get my rear tires on a little bit of the splitter-splatter water, and spin my tires a little to clean dust and grime off them(lots of it at OSW).

your R/T isn't horrible but it ain't great, R/T is my way of keeping up with faster cars at the track, nothing like beating a car to the finish line that actually ran a better time then you .

Where in Florida are you at and where are you racing at? Its not Orlando Speed World(OSW), is it Bradenton? Morosso? Gainesville?

Im running at sunshine actually, and i too know i should be getting better times. and that was just a ****ty reaction time, i ofcourse do better than 1 second, lol. Anyways, im wondering if it could be somehting stupid like my spark plugs and wires, cause i when i put in my headers, one on my wires came off, and i had to drive like 2 miles runnin on 5 cylinders. Think that mabye the wires got fried on the headers? i mean granted it runs fine, but...or well, i hate to ask, but do you think that f'ed up something else when i was runnin on 5 cylinders? Thanks in advance.

Youre doing great. The first time I went I ran a 10.062 @ 70.xx mph IIRC, but now Im running a 9.7x :D

I have like 99% of the mods you have cardinal. Why is it that im running such low times? i mean at least a 9.8, that 9.9 i ran was high, practly a 10. Infact, all my other runs were 10's, its just luck i got that 9.9 so with that in mind, i have all these mods, runnin a 10. WTF is that? honestly, consistant 10's? running what i have? the only diffrence i see in all the cars runnin lower 9's and my car, is the ignition, wires, and plugs.
