Im planning on going to Gainesville the next time they open, I have a completely stock, 97 automatic V6 camaro with 57,000 miles. What do you think my 1/4 times should be around? I'm hoping for nothing higher than 16.5! Im an inexperienced driver as far as the track goes, i'll probably have my cousin drive my car who has plenty of experience at the track. Lets hear whatcha think guys?

if you have 3.08 gears which is kind of likely, mid to high 16's. Do everything you can think of that will help your car run faster
ex. take air out of rear tire(s), keep engine cooler(open hood), take out spare tire and jack etc etc...1998 Red Firebird A4 3.8L (3.08)
Dynomax bullet then dumped, Carsound cat, NGKTR55 plugs, Taylor Pro 8mm, Hypertech 160*, Whisper Lid, k&n,!FRA, Lifted Airbox
(2) Audiobahn 10\" subs
Sony Xplod MP3 Head unit/interchangeable Color Display

yes, forgot to mention, no Y87 package here!!! :(
ps: wouldn't that be funny if I was a complete moron and you told me to let the air out of my rear tires, and I drove down the track with no air in my tires, "Hey, I know what i'm doing, this guy told me to let the air out of my tires, just ask 'em!"

high 15s in good conditions. try to make a run with the engine temp cool (160-180).....without a fan switch you will just need to blast the warm air while you are waiting in line. If you make a run at 200-210 you will be ashamed to look at the timeslip!!! ;)

What day are you going to Gainesville? I know a few guys going Saturday, but I have a football game at 9am Saturday morning in Jacksonville. Maybe I should just go to the track anyways!CarDomain Page

The 1/8th mile is at Jax Raceways, It's on the Northside of Jacksonville, Pecan Park Rd. to be exact, I guess you could use mapquest to figure the best way to get there, I'm not too sure? They are having midnight drags this Saturday, pay like $15 to get in, race from 10pm to like 2am I think, bunch of Ricers out there though! They do Test and Tune on Tuesdays, go here for their schedule! If you wanna meet up there we could do that, or if you wanna wait till the 27th of March we can meet up at Gainesville, or we could even meet up somewhere around here and cruise to Gainesville together.Jax Raceways PageCarDomain Page

This Sat. is midnight drags, I guess you could consider it Test and Tune. I don't think there is a difference in midnight drags on Sat. and Test and Tune on Tuesdays that they have except the times. Sat. night pay like $15 and race all night long,(I think it's like 10pm to 2am or something) If you don't mind driving back to GA at like 3 in the morning it wouldn't be that bad, you'd probably get a lot of runs in. But the track sucks A$$!!!!CarDomain Page
