My 1st Run EVER @ the track....

Ok I'll start off by saying I had ALOT of fun! Even so the track was PACKED and I only got ONE run.

Well it was my VERY FIRST time @ the track....I JUST put my SLP CAI on earlier today.

Im kinda upset with my times but eh...my first time. Here they are (get ready to laugh).

I was running on 87 octane, PLUS i did NOT take out my system (which is pretty damn heavy). My opponent (a Mazda MR2 ran a 16.197)

Not that bad a run for your first time out man. Your 60ft killed your e/t, but hey, like you said, you only got one run in. Next time drop the air pressure in the rear tires a bit, launch around 1600-1800rpm, and take some dead weight out of the car. Also, for future reference, try to include mph with your times-this is very useful in determining how the car is performing.

Also keep in mind i kept my system in and ran on low octane. It was a last minute decision to actually go to the track.

Don't feel bad. I got consistant 16.4's my first time out, and look what I've done since with no new mods. Did you happen to notice what temp your engine was running at? Temp is a big key, try to keep it around 160 when making a run...easiest way to do that is by putting a manual fan switch in.

my temp was average...around 160. I ordered the manual fan switch today in fact.

Do u think higher octane and taking out my HEAVY *** system would get me out of the 16's??????

Im stock with a Y87 package and I run like 10.000 in the 1/8 which is around 15.6 in the 1/4 so you should be able to get better than that.

That isnt a good time to me, I was dissapointed in it. Im gonna go to the track again tomorrow. Try and get there early. This time I'll take my system out.

Not bad at all. Dont worry...i probably have the WORST first time at the track time.

Im gonna try to get there EARLY (around 4) and get more than one run in LOL.
