Do a search next time, this has been discussed many times.

At any rate. First off, when you get there, lower your tire pressure to about 22-25 psi in the back. If you are using street radials, give them a quick "dust off" (1-2 second burnout). Do not burn them out anymore than that or you will actually lose traction off the line.

Also, when driving to the tree, avoid the water pits at all costs.

Now for launching. FIrst time out, simply hold the brake with one foot, hover your other foot over the gas pedal. When time to go (when 3rd yellow light blinks), release brake & slam gas.

If you get no spin from that, then, hold the brake & rev up to 1500-2000 rpms, as high as you can go without bogging (slow start -- means rpms are too high for the torque converter -- lower rpms) or spinning the tires (too much power for the tires to handle -- lower rpms). Don't bother going over 2k, our torque converter stalls at about 2k or below, and you will only bog if you rev too high.

Overdrive, hold brake hard, 1700 rpm, slam it on 3rd yellow while letting the brake go. Trust me dude. :D

I'd drop the rear tire psi (street tires) to 30 psi (better traction)
Raise the front's to 40 psi (less rolling resistence in front)
        Leave it in overdrive
Pop the hood in the staging area's (keep it cool)
Keep the car off (Again, keep it cool)
Take any crap in the car and toss it in the trunk (better traction)

Put your tires at about 16 psi thats the best for traction.

While all yall are B***hing about traction i have plenty. All of my friends here when they race go with 15 psi and they have been racing for years. O and the supercharger thing is on the forced induction boards. Im not a newbie im just a newbie to the boards. And no i dont sell drugs or guns so dont get your hopes up shirl.

                          15 psi with slicks right?
                          That I believe.
Street tires below 25 psi begin to cup due to stronger sidewalls and will lose traction.
Slicks have a much softer sidewall. They will not cup at lower psi.
Are you are talking about a slick tire?
Or are you talking about a street tire?
Or a dot street drag radial?
Don't take what I said the wrong way.
                          I am just curious.
I've made a couple passes down the 1/4 and I speak from experience.
I'm always out there trying to learn new track tips.

Leaving it in 3rd will help you slow down after the race actually, take a little pressure off the brakes.
