gears, stall, LSD, Tires (no point if you cant get the power to the ground) gears I would say mainly that would take maybe .5 off with a converter another .5 off if that time is with spinning add tires and you should be mid 14's maybe with real good weather ohh yea get a cut out or get a nice 3" exasght for the stall and MAFT+ and auto tap it should be mid 14's to low 14's i would say hell maybe throw a cam in there

so basicly a grand could drop you like a sec and about 2k could let you hit mid to lower 14's depending on the wether alot to cause hell i have run the 14.75 a couple weeks back this last weekend the wether sucked and I ran a 15.03 i think it was weather can play a BIG part like .3 easy get a fan switch and low temp thermo too its been proven a hotter engin takes HP away :/

oh yea you never said your buget that would help

All depends on your budget.

If you can only do a few things, then I would definately do a torque converter.. ~3200 stall would be real nice for drag use. You can buy a 9.5" converter from precision industries for about $515 brand new too.

Then you'll need nittos so you can hook the car.

Then just get a $25 dollar cutout, go to the muffler shop and have them mount it in right after the catalytic converter.

That setup right there should get you 14.6's in good weather.

Then do Intake.

Then you might want to do headers after that.

Also, it helps to do free things.. like remove weight... Try to race on 1/4 tank of fuel... Remove the back seats, passanger seat, sub/amp's, spare tire & jack.. things like that. WOuldn't hurt to remove the front sway bar either to help you launch with the high stall converter.

There's a road map for ya, hope it helps.

I think it affects daily driving quite a bit.

You can't take turns very hard any more. Highway lane changes must also be made very carefuly. There is no more SWERVE out of the way kind of power, its more like crack the wheel and feel the body tilt and watch one of your front nose coners DIVE into the ground as the other one lifts up and hope you don't lose control.

It does change the way the car rides quite a bit.

Go 40 down the road, and twist the wheel really quickly, left, right, left, right.. the front of the car stays very level and your car turns very sharply... well without the bar upfront, the front end will NOT stay level at all and you might feel like your on a very choppy boat ride.

In a straight line cruise it has no effect.

Straight line accell it helps the front end lift up more.

thanks guys.

Just a few more questions...

1). Will a set of Eibach lowering springs slow me down? I know they wont speed me up, just wanna know if they'd hurt me times.

2). If I do happen to put in a stall...how would that effect my everyday driving?

3). (to Magnus) The exaust cutout you speak of, tell me more about this please.

Ok well, tonight I am hopefully going to the track. Weather seems fine, no rain and it's sposed to be a cold night =)

Wish me luck.

1) They will hurt your launch and make it harder to hook.. DON'T do this if you put a torque converter in the car.

2) You'll be at higher RPM's when you accelerate from a stop.. the trans will feel looser.. the car will make more of a higher pitched noise when you accell.

3) It just lets gas out, do a search in general help and you'll find a lot of info. It's a part that needs to be welded in by a exhaust shop of some sort.

Good luck!

thanx man, appreciate your help =)

see, my goal is to make my v6 fast while still allowing it to be a daily driver.

I do plan on spraying, a 75 dry shot in fact...just for a little while.

Once I have the $$ saved I'd like to do an engine swap...maybe be one of the few 97- Fbodys w/ an LS1 =)

Wish me luck today!

I dont think youll be able to put an LS1 in the 93-97 f-body? Thats why GM had to change the style of the f-body so that the LS1 could fit. Thats what I thought.
Good Luck if you do.

for those of you that have taken the front sway bar out i need some advice. i am real interested in trying that at the track, but by magnus's explanation, it sounds dangerous to drive without it. my question is: can you take your front sway bar off your daily driver? i want to help my car at the track as much as possible, but without terribly disturbing my daily 60 mile drive to work. anybody here drive without a front sway bar?
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

I drive without a FSB as a daily driver..

Just be careful, don't take hard turns and don't expect to be a highway racer switching lanes like a mad man.

Straigh lines are your friend.
