Would a small converter upgrade be worth my time if I never run drag radials? maybe 2400stall+?

my impression is, yes...
what you would do is get one with a soft launch, lowish stall, and very high efficiency.
I think the super yank 3500 is a good choice if you are not looking to run drag slicks.2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'

no way is it worhth it. why do people buy torque converters- fot the launch? 2400 stall? why even spend the money? it is my belief a torque converter is a mod that should be left to the racing enthusiast, 2400 stall is nothing a racing enthusiast would buy. i wouldnt let my friends buy one. just my opinion though ;)6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

Perhaps 3,000+ stall but just high efficiency with a relatively low STR so that it doesnt liquify my streetiez 2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

If your going to go through all the hassel of a converter change, I say get something with some kick to it..
Even on street tires its still worth it.
If you go with a lower STR and higher efficiency, when you DO put some DR's on and make some track passes, you may be dissapointed with your results.Keith - Chicago
HP Tuners - PCM Reprogramming
97 Firebird V6 to LS1 swap
V8 9.967@132.78 1.322 60\' NA Heads/Cam
V8 10.295@128.48 1.363 60\' NA Cam Only
V8 10.987@119.31 1.422 60\' NA Stock Internals
V6 13.674@98.22 NA
V6 12.394@104.91 N20 100HP
