This guy has a 2001 Extreme and wants to race me. He has the power programmer, exhaust and intake. I have exhaust, and a few free/cheap mods (See Below). I think it will be close. What do yo guys think? Also a guy with a 3.4 Camaro w/3.73s, intake, exhaust, a few more minor things wants a peice of my pie (Best run is a 16.9). What do you think there? I think the 3.4 No problem, the s10, never seen one run or race.
Oh yeah, Im not sure where this belonged, but I figured, its a race, it counts as "all things quarter mile!"
1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH
1997 Dodge Viper GTS
i raced one in the 1/8 mile. i ran a 9.7, and he ran a 10.96, so you make the call..
97 CAMARO RS
12.9@103mph
best 60ft..1.9 ( on street tires)
1.7 (on gas)
turbo supra 12.5@119mph (street tires)
new times to come sporting the sp63gt
The S10 is packing a strong motor, but it's not enough to keep up with your car.

The Xtreme is a 4-banger...you'll win...they are peppy but lack alot of top end.....as far as the Camaro; may be close..depends on how and for how long you'll be racing.....he'll pull really good early on you, but farther down the road in top end he'll slow up and you'll start to catch him.....
If he was talking bout Xtreme S10 4.3 motor, get a good launch coz 4.3s have more low end torque than our 3.8s but they fall off on their a s s top end. As for 3.4, get a good launch also and he'll never catch you.
2.2lt Xtreme? I had a 2.2ltr sonoma w/ zq8 suspension I tell you they are dog pissed sloooow! My EX's geo prizm could outrun that truck!
The 4.3 extremes are decent. I beat one in my 89 RS 305 TBI auto camaro. And I know that my 98 3.8 is faster the the 89. So even if its a 4.3 I think you would win.
Yeah I am pretty sure all new extremes have the 4.3. Maybe not, sorry it is a 4.3 Vortec. I think they are like 190HP. The dude is all cocky, cause he is pushing a half liter on me, but i told him he'd be unpleasantly suprised by the bomb A$$ 3.8!

Only the Extended cab Xtremes have the 4.3L :D

You can get either 2.2 or 4.3 in ANY S10 - regular or Xtreme or regular cab or ext cab or auto or manual. Doesnt matter. Now to cover my ss (cause I know someone will mention it to be a d*ck), there was an S10 SS that came strictly with 4.3 and auto.
Anyhow. Yes, they do fall on their face. They were engineered to be a truck... nothing else. Low 16s and high 15s can be expected from a stock 4.3

Make sure neither one if them are hiding a bottle bet them BOTH some money, then split the profit w/ me 50/50 for giving you the idea !!!! :D sorry but you could run laps around that xtreme all day !!
AIS 2 OHH the memories... Great times and putting names with faces.
From \"interesting\" hooters waitress(Did you guys FLY ? ) to pissing BMW owners off on the ride home. To ending up in Philidelphia and USING (hahaha) an ice machine. I had a BLAST.
Thanxs to all that showed up!!

yep yep...my bro has a '98 S-10...regular cab 5spd, 4.3L engine. rated at 185hp, 245lb ft., 3.08 gearing...
he got me off the line, but i'd walk him past 50 mph...tq peak at 2800, hp peak at 4400 with a 5500 redline just isn't great for racing with. Towing, hell yeah, but not racing.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
