  • Just got back from HRP...

    I had 3 runs, not what I was expecting at all. I guess I could take out the spare tire are a few other things to get the times down.

    So not what I was expecting but hey what can you do? I think I should be running better than this though. Does anyone have any ideas on how to cut 1 sec off my times? ;)

    Those are nice times...whats killin you is your 60' time. If you could lower that to about a 2.1 then you could definitely hit 14's.

      Yeah, I would agree your 60ft times are hurting you. My best so far is a 15.68 @90.25, coming off a 2.3xx 60ft, so I know that's my problem.

        Pretty much same 60ft as myself, low 2.3 range. Personal best so far is a 15.322@91.6, so you should be about the same. A couple more trips and you should knock a couple more tenths off there.

            it's a m5. Ya I tried a few different things on launch and different shift points. Oh well I guess I just need practice.

            So what would help me on my 60' times? LCA's 1lE driveshaft? Nittos? TIA

              Drag radials, feathering the cluth a little on launch, etc etc.

                Don't rev your car up too high...when you launch keep the rpm's no higher than 2K...trust me. Now it's probably different in the M5, but on my A4, my optimal launch is at 1,700RPMs. Any higher and I see higher ETs ;) The lower RPM start will yield better traction at the start, thus giving you a lower 60'. You don't need to take out the spare, I didn't [img]smile.gif[/img]

                  Ya, I was launching at ~2200-2400 rpms. Got a little wheel hop on the second run, spinned the tires a little on the last run and bogged just a little on the first run.
