Ok I haven't been to the track yet, still working on the car, but a friend of mine goes all the time. There are several z-28s and SSs that only run 15 somethings. I told him they are supposed to run 13 somethings, and they must suck royally at driving. He said it was becuase of altitude differences. I live in Tucson, AZ. What do you guys think? What should my car run? a 17 something? I think they are just pretty boys who got an SS from the mom and pops.

Find out what your elavation is at the track, they should know. Then go here to see what times you would have run at sea level. http://www.prestage.com/carmath/NHRA...on_Factors.aspCharles
98 Silver Firebird M5
whisper lid, K&N, whisper cold-air
RKSport cat-back
BMR LCA\'s, STB, panhard rod, tunnel brace
B&M ripper
15.376@89.92 2.267 60\'

Yeah, pretty much, to get an LS1 to run 15's you either need to be a crappy driver, or be at some serious elevation like 6000+ ft.Charles
98 Silver Firebird M5
whisper lid, K&N, whisper cold-air
RKSport cat-back
BMR LCA\'s, STB, panhard rod, tunnel brace
B&M ripper
15.376@89.92 2.267 60\'

elevation is a BIG factor, i live in west texas, actual elevation is like 3000-3500 feet, but the air density reaches up to 7000 feet sometimes! If the cars here go to Ennis or Houston there is ALWAYS a .4-.6 decrease in E.T'sBlack 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

I don't think the elevation is very high, I live in a dry a$$ valley. Its like hell here. Mountains all around, but hot and dry in the valley. let me see if i can find out.... Its about 2,389 feet above sea level. (according to some web site.) So it should be a big factor like .1 - .2 seconds? ;)

2400ft would probably hurt your 1/4 mile time by about .4 or .5 .Charles
98 Silver Firebird M5
whisper lid, K&N, whisper cold-air
RKSport cat-back
BMR LCA\'s, STB, panhard rod, tunnel brace
B&M ripper
15.376@89.92 2.267 60\'
