launch when you see the third yellow light and not wait till you see the green light.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

Sorry to let in you in on a little secret, but Reaction Times (R/T's) have NOTHING to do with your overall 1/4 time.....unless I smoke crack and lost a couple 1000 brain cells.....

youre right, 60 ft times have nothing to do with R/Ts....you can wait seconds to react (R/T), but the 1/4 mile clock doesn't start till the car moves...

elavation makes a HELLA difference!!!!!!! from where i live, i would pick up anywhere from .5-.7 going to a sea level track, like houston...the air density plays a HUGE role in how a car runs, thats why it feels so damn slow in the summer compared to winter, the air is hotter and less dense, therefore not letting as much air and fuel enter the combustion chamber...

your 60's are your problems, did you put foot on the brake and gas it a little, then letoff and go? Did your wheels spin? I thought the biggest rpoblems with 3.08s is the guys cannot spin there tires if they wanted too.

now lok at the basics, when was the last time you did plugs\wires? fuel filter? air filter? run a fuel system cleaner? Mayeb flush the motor? Routine maintenace can be the best mod on a car.

I guess I have "Magic 308's" because I can easily spin mine.......not for too long but they'll still spin.

it's got brand new plugs/wires/coils, however i haven't changed the fuel filter in awhile, and i haven't run a fuel cleaner. and yes i do stall before launch.. i usually stall to about 1500 or so. i know i said 2000 eairler, but that was a guess i was actually 500 less. what fuel system cleaner do you use?

I know I ran a 17.3 my first pass down the track (spun like hell), but i still pulled an 89mph trap speed. Something is way off with your MPH.

Something is not only wrong with your MPH but your times. I mean I agree 100% that the 3.08's aren't great gears for performance but look at what I ran (look below in my signature). Not to shabby for a car that's 100% stock with 3.08's. hrmmmmmmmm i say get a nice 3" exasght on there after you get a k&n or something

3.42's with LSD will hell alot but not that much

hell you are almost as slow as my 97 mercury mystque was (4 cyclinder pos with 150k miles on it it had a Ztech engin hehe not a vtek)

i think u might have a cloged exasht maybe allso do a compression test on the cylenders to see how they are if they are low you got problems with the motor itself if they high ( i think 150 would be about right could be wrong tho see if one is real low sompared to the others) then you got prblems out side the motor

i would change the fuel filter for sure and make sure your plugs are all goo when you take them out to do the compression test

forget the mods. you have one major maintenance to do first.

are you sure your pressing the gas all the way? If you just press the tips of the pedal you don't necessarily hit it down all the way. Mash it right in the middle :D

Bob is correct, forget about mods, maintenence first.
                                Fuel filter is #1
Then do not stall up the converter next time.
Launch off idle, see if you grab then.
If not the lower the rear tire psi to 30 and fronts to 40 psi.
                                Also pcv valve?
                                clean the air filter?
Mine with a couple of mods ( cat back, air filter and thermo) was running 16.7 first time out, I don't remember the mph though.
Try the above and go back to the track and let us know.
