here you go, id did have a problem with the tranny, had the 1870 code, but a shift kit in and it took care of the code. I haven't changed the fuel filter, nor have i done any compression tests on the engine, i did however run a fuel system cleaner. I am going to change the fuel filter in the next couple of weeks, and see how it does. My car has 100K miles on it and i usually don't spin the tires comming off the line, just on that first run (the 18 second) but i went to the track again after installing the shift kit, here's the results.
well, i got to the start line and they made us back up, cuz they had to clean an oil slick up off the track, so my car had a chance to cool down. So i don't know if it was the cooler engine, or shift kit that made the difference it was only about 4 thenths of a difference between my best run before the shift kit. here's my
best run from Friday night.
R/T .487 (jumped the line)
60' 2.619 (ouch!)
330 7.176
1/8 10.922 @ 66.23MPH (sad my 1/8 time is some of your 1/4)
1000' 14.111
1/4 16.798 @83.61MPH
my best run last time (before shift kit)
R/T .955
60' 2.715
330 7.364
1/8 11.174 @ 65.16MPH
1000' 14.411

If ur only runnin 16.7's u still got somethin wrong. I got a 97 Camaro with 3.08's and about 82k miles. First day i took it to the strip i had two 15.78 times slips, and the only thing i did was put in a K&N filter. Id take my car to a mechanich and get him to go over it reall good. But if i can run 15.78's in the deep south with this muggey air, you should at least be runnin 16's.
