• Went to the track and finally...

have an eleven second timeslip :D

I'm still having trouble launching since I put the winter mods on, need a bigger stall. But its really coming on after the 1/8 mile.

I installed a new coil pack and module and leaned it up and that seemed to really wake it up.

The best run of the day was a 11.98@118.66 on a 1.86 60'. If I could launch like I did when it was stock, 1.6x, I should be in the 11.5-11.6 range with that mph.

Not too shabby on 93 octane and water/alcohol injection. Now more tuning...

Nice times man. Congrats. Mucho respect for those turbo 3.8s.

But just what do you mean by "stock" and "not stock?"

Im guessing not stock means he isnt stock. It probably means he has something done to the car causing it to not be stock, just a shot in the dark

By stock, I mean stock turbo, intercooler, injectors, downpipe, cat-back, etc. I was running 100 octane when I went those times.

Not stock, I mean PT51 turbo, 50# injectors, Terry Houston 3" down pipe, SLP cat-back, still stock intercooler. I'm running an alcohol/water injection. So I'm running 93 octane and denatured alcohol to achieve the times now.

Hey TTA 1387 I had a question about your setup. In your post you say that you have water/alcohol injection. What is this exactly and how much did it help? I ask this because I have done a lot of research on water injection on WW2 planes and wanted to see what you had to say about it and see if it was the same idea.

So far its working great. I use 100% denatured alcohol. It helps cool the combustion chamber a couple hundred degrees and also ups the octane. Basically allows pump gas to work like race gas. Its sprayed into the up pipe before the throttle body and comes on at a preset amount of boost. Mine is adjustable in that turn on point and pump speed is controlled inside the car. Here's more info on the setup I have:

                      Hope that helps

Damn, thanks for clearing that up for me. You are the ****in' man!

I was meaning, what does he mean...in detail, because i know they don't run 12.15 from the factory. Thanks for the response TTA. Good times.

You're right, they don't run those times from the factory. FWIW, I was running 12.6x with the Firestone SZ50's. It wasn't until I put the Nitto DRs on that I finally was able to run low 12s.

When I bought it, I changed the chip to a Thrasher 92 which was so much better than the '89 vintage ATR that was in it. It ran 13.0@104 with the Firestone's on it. That was straight off the street. Mods at the time were K&N, 160 thermo, and a cat pipe. After tuning and upping the boost with the 100 octane, it just came alive I'm sure if I would have put the Nitto's on at that time, I might have hit a 12.8-12.9 just on stock boost levels.

Its been very frustrating since I've put the mods on though. The car is still slower to the 1/8. Its starting to get better. Right now the trans is starting to go, flaring real bad on the 2-3 shift.
