• Got some nitrous times finally

I bypassed the window switch after my first run since it was flaking out on me and got some first nitrous times. Not what I was looking for but not too bad either. 14.2 @ 98.7 then the same time again but with an extra person in the car. Couldn't get the launches right with the drag radials (also a first for me). My 60' times were 2.2s and 2.1s... the same short times I get on my street tires. I just gotta learn how to play the clutch right with the drag radials, I kept bogging right off the line. My highest launch was at about 3200 (tires at 20psi) and I bogged, so I'm going to try to get back to the track soon and try launching at 3500 or higher until I can find the sweet spot.

Here are the two good times:
r/t: ... .645
60': ... 2.195
330: ... 6.093
1/8: ... 9.267
MPH: ... 78.74
1000 ...11.945
1/4: ...14.234
MPH: ... 98.73
And this one right after with a passenger
r/t: ... .626
60': ... 2.212
330: ... 6.053
1/8: ... 9.243
MPH: ... 78.24
1000 ...11.944
1/4: ...14.249
MPH: ... 98.09

Both passes bogged pretty bad off the line, just gotta get that launch together and I'll see 13s

I wasn't running last Friday. I was there helping my cousin with his car. He had a 1992 Teal RS with a 4" cowl hood (its not stock anymore). He ran a 13.25@103mph. He just can't get the car to hook off the line. Not sure if you saw it or not but that's why you didn't see my car. But I sure noticed yours with the times you ran man. I had my eye out all night when I saw the passes you made. Just never got a chance to go and talk to you. Good job again.

Hey... I think I raced your cousin! See if he has any timeslips with 7606 in the opposite lane.

Nice times, but if your gonna do tht make sure you do not miss a gear.

OSW has a way of making you miss gears, I powershift, and drive hard all over the place but I average a missed gear at OSW every third time I go. Hell I missed 2nd gear, I did not even know that was possible.

You should be able to get those 60's down to maybe a 2.0XX

I think I should be able to get those 60' times to 1.8s or 1.9s

hey 96BeastV6, what mods do you have?

i too will be getting n20 installed on my car and would like to know what else i will need to get those times.

We live very close so im guessing if our mods are relatively the same and i run the same shot than I'd score around the same times as you.

(i bet none of that makes much sense...didnt know how to word it)

black97cam: Mods include: SLP CAI, Taylor 8mm plug wires, spark plugs still AC Delco- getting NGKs ASAP, replaced cat with 1 chamber Flowmaster, muffler is pretty much a pipe with a muffler casing around it (ghetto brand, don't remember who makes it), Pro 5.0 shifter, SPEC stage 2 clutch, lightened stock flywheel (by SPEC), polyurethane transmission mount and torque arm bushing (Energy Suspension), 1pc steel driveshaft, Zexel Torsen LSD, stock transmission is from 98 Camaro (broke mine the first time I sprayed), removed MAF screen (in case of nitrous backfire), removed front sway bar, removed counterweight on tranny.

The nitrous setup is a NOS 5175 dry kit. I converted it to wet with an Edelbrock fuel solenoid, an NOS fogger nozzle, and a couple extra lines. It's currently jetted to a 75 shot.

What drag radials are you running?

Try lowering the pressure some ... I have had mine down to 15 lbs before trying to hook good.

Get 'em good and warm too ...

To gitman and MidLifeSpeed: traction wasn't my problem at OSW. I was bogging. I was running Nitto 275/50/15s at 20psi. My highest launch was at 3200 and I bogged, but still came out with a 2.2 short time. At G-ville, I will try launching at 3500 and as far as 4000, but thats pushing it. After I work up to about 3800, if I'm still bogging I'll start RAISING the psi.
