I'm just wondering if our V6s can ever make it into the 10s. I think that with a 150 shot of Nitrous, the ATI Supercharger, the SSM Powerpack, all forged internals, drag slicks, induction/exhaust complete uprage, complete suspension upgrade, and computer tuning we can make it into the 10s. Anyone have any comments?

sounds easier/cheaper to drop in a GN engine and tune it, could even run 9's possiblyStreet Lethal Performance
2000 Black Firebird Y87
3.42\'s, Torsen Limited Slip, 160 powerstat,
Manual Fan Switch, Cutout exhaust, Whisper Ram Air CAI,
K&N filter, Zex spark plugs, MSD plug wires, MAF screen removed.
AIM: FIREBIRDRUMBLE00
Street Lethal Performance Profile

To propel a 3300lb object into the 10.999 range you will need a minimum of 575hp.
To hit 10.5 you'll need more like 650hp.
Anything over 500hp from a 3.8L Series II would not run on street gas.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

11's sure, 10's I dunno, we shall see.
I'm thinking a multiple stage nitroused v6 with a forged bototm end

I have to disagree. Changing the converter and gears can give over a full second reduction in 1/4 mile times. And those have nothing to do with what you have up there. There is also this thing called a torque curve. A BBC with 500TQ/HP will be much faster then a Civic with 500TQ/HP. Peak numbers are for dyno queens. On top of that you can't get track times out of dyno numbers. Did you know shorter gears reduce dyno numbers? So you have a car that makes 300HP add 4.56s gears and now you have 250HP. Are you saying that the car got slower?
10.67 sec @ 128.36 mph (1.49 60') 78F, 80%, 30.1 inHg, 3626 lbs from 524.7 rwhp & 514.9 ft-lbs torque
Car is almost in mid tens and it doesn't even have the minimun hp you posted.
Silver3800V6FBodyKY, talk to 10secdream. 11s are very much in reach, but 10s will require alot more money. So much infact that it's not worth it unless you're just out to prove something and have a money tree. Engine might last a few runs and might need race gas. I doubt you can spray the ATI kit with a 150 shot. I have a friend with dual power adder and he's got tens of thousands in his engine. Runs 10s and it's a V8.

What if we had a perfomance tranny rebuild done by Cone Engineering? Then our trannys would definatly hold.2001 A4 Pewter 75th Anniversary W68 Firebird
1997 Dodge Ram Extended Cab 360 CID
1996 Ford Explorer V6
Any number you can think of, I can think of one higher.
www.criesmusic.com
www.mp3.com/beneaththestage
http://www.thenebula.com/carpics/pics/Silver3800V6Picturescar6.jpg
http://www.thenebula.com/carpics/pics/Silver3800V6Picturescar4.jpg
AIM: Guitarchitect201

get the tranny race prepped w/ aluminum components, more friction disks as well as at least 1 additional clutch per gear. the torque converter will probly be a 9" 3000+ stall converter custom made. new .02 overbore forged pistons w/ either 8.0:1 or 9.5;1 compression are almost ready from 3800performance.com, so that'll get you a few hp when combined w/ other mods. yuo can have forged or titanuim rods made for our cars also, as well as maybe a stroker crankshaft, as long as the manufacturer has all the specs he needs. Lot's of money though. Also, all that power makes no difference if it is all used up spinning the tires through the 1/4. a lot has to be built up in order to take that kind of power. i'd suggest using only a small 50 dry shot of nitrous on any forced induction engine just to cool the intake air off a bit. work on beefing up the suspension, chassis, and bolt-on mods for now. E-mail me if you wanna see how I'm planning on building up my car, or IM me and we can discuss it sometime.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj. Anything over 500hp from a 3.8L Series II would not run on street gas.

I don't think pump gas would be a problem. I'm running 93 octane with water/alcohol injection. I've hit a best so far of 119.7mph. Once I get my converter, I should be in the low-mid 11s. I'm also having the trans rebuilt to "10 second" specs so I won't have to rebuild it again.
Also, your HP numbers are rather high. You have to remember that boosted cars have tremendous amounts of torque. That'll be what numbers you want to look at. FWIW, when mine was "stock" I dynoed 318rwhp and 455rwtq. Those numbers gave me 12.1@111 at the track. Not exactly the numbers all the calculators kept spitting out.
There's a guy on turbobuick.com that has run very low 10s on pump gas and alky. Its a custom setup with 4 injectors I believe, but still on pump gas. His goal is to hit the 9s on pump gas.Rob
89 TTA #1387
11.87@115.39

yup, less weight is good too. fiberglass hood, removed spare tire/jack, dynabatt battery, chrome-moly k-member, upper/lower a-arms, brake rotors, forged rims, removed back seats, replaced front seats w/ racing seats, carbon fiber driveshaft, transmission built-up w/ aluminum components, engine internally balanced w/ forged pistons and forged/titanium connecting rods and forged crankshaft, aluminum flywheel, 9" torque converter, aluminum radiator, open headers, removed windshield washer fluid resevoir, aluminum heads, ect. hope this give you some ideas on how to lighten your car.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj.
