Maybe elevation? What state are you in. What is the elevation at the track.

I am in utah, we are at 4,400 ft. elevation above sea level. this hurts my ET's badly. It could easily take off a full second if I were at a sea level track.

Well here's my theory, there were several hundred 98 A4 f-body's that from the factory just suck. I own one, I should be in the 13's with my mods but I'm still in the 15's. I've noticed many people 98's have this slowness problem, if you solve it let me know.

we need to help this person!!!
If my my bonneville (17.1) is faster than anyone here on this board, something is seriously wrong

How many times have you been to the track? elevation will have a direct effect on your times. See if you can find out some corrected times.
Maybe a raim air mod to compliment your K&N, shift kit, a little juice,.....

Do you have the stock exhaust system??? If so, I can bet that is a big part of the problem.

I think his main problem is where he's racing at. He lives in Denver, CO. so I'm guessing he's at Bandimere. The altitude at that track kills normally aspirated engines regardless of make or model, heck even NHRA pros struggle up there and they have huge amounts of horsepower. So it's probably a product of location rather than lack of horsepower.

yeah, it's more location I think. The only good thing about high altitudes is less wind resistance at higher speeds, but since our cars barely make it to 95-100 in the 1/4, it doesn't help us at all. I'd get intake stuff if I were you dude, FTRA, whisper lid, removed maf screen, heads/cam, hot rockers. Don't get a big exhaust(3") since you're not pushing much air through the engine as is, so maybe get 2.5" or 2.75" pipe for cat-back and you'll be cool.

Also practice, practice, practice.I knocked over 1/2 second off my 1/8 mile times just by learning how to launch. That and the elevation probably played a huge part in your high ET's.The main question is,did you have fun? :D
