• Took the GTP to the track!!

I ended up with a best run of 14.1@95mph. I was hitting consitent 14.5-14.6's until the temp. started dropping. I got my 14.1 when it was about 65F out. I had a 2.0 60' on my stock Goodyears.

What else do you plan on getting in that thing before SLP day? and what times you expect to be running for the eliminations?

I probably won't have anything else done to it, besides a coat of wax  . My time will all depend on the temp. that day. My times are very effected by outside temp.

Hey, John D., that wax does make the car more slippery and aerodynamic doesn't it?!

        j/k.

Just thought I'd say hi to the other John D on here again.

My nitrous kit should show up this week, I'm anxious to see how the car runs with all the mods I've done.

Hey, I wonder if everybody thinks we're the same person???

The wax is worth .2 in the 1/4 if you wax the windshield.

You're only in Tennessee I see (that sounds wierd doesn't it), maybe you could hook up with us RedLineV6 guys some time.

We both even did the period on the end of our names... I bet people will get us mixed up. I might oughta change mine before it goes any further?!

Where do you all meet up? Cincinnati? I don't normally get up that way, but it's not that far... Mapquest says its about 280 miles.

I used to drive through there when travelling from Detroit down to TN to visit, when I used to work up there from '86-'93.

Bout time! Anyway, good runs. Yeah, temperature greatly affects these cars. That is an awesome 60ft on stock tires. I can barely get that with drag radials.

I bet, you're putting down a butt load more power.

Any chance you are icing the intake? Can bing the intake temp down a bit at the strip.

I considered it when we were there, but it was my first time at the track so I was just worried about launching and staging and all that stuff. I may try it the next time I go. Will it make that big of a difference if the outside air is really hot??

Those GTP's are quick! Friend of mine here has one, has about the same mods as you & his best yet is a 13.9 or so @98mph. The weather & track elevations down here tend to favor him, so long as it's cool. If he could get that thing to hook better... :D

I would love to hit the track in this thing on a nice 0 degree day. I bet it would run like it's a$$ was on fire.

I got to run my friend's on a nice cold night awhile back so he could hear the blower from outside the car. I managed a 14.6xx, spinning like a madman off the line, & letting off at the end. Needless to say, it was quite a ride
