I was happy with what I ran..ive only got a Whisper lid and exhaust.I definately Surprised alot of people though. Nobody thought id even make it into the 15's. Lemme know what you guys think and bare in mind that was my FIRST TIME EVER at the track so there is ALOT of room for improvement. Thanks guys

Not bad for your first time at the track. Like you said, your times will get better with experience.

Welp i went back this weekend...i changed NOTHING in the car...and pulled a 15.722. Im thinking if i take the 200lbs worth of stereo my backseats and the passenger seat OUT of the car...i could get into the lower 15's. There is STILL room for improvement. I was the only V6 F-body at the track and everyone was like due to me running with 2 Z28's. The first Z i ran was a 96 and he ran a 15.675 and the second was a 95 that ran 15.5. I know they couldnt drive but it still made me feel good that i wasnt all that far behind. Got a run with a ZR-1 Vette..that thing was awesome. he ran somewhere in the 12's i seem to have misplaced the time slip.

Sounds good to me.
Here are some tips:
1) Do you have a traction problem? If yes, take any extra things in your car and put it in the trunk, if not remove it
2) Spare tire and jack, gone!!!!
3) Raise the front tire psi to 40 psi track only
4) Lower the rear tire psi to 30 psi
5) Auto or manual? If it is an auto stall the converter up
6) In between rounds keep the hood open.
7) Try not to let the car run a lot, you want ti to stay as cool as possible
8) Just have fun and best of luck

Wow, your a natural! My first time was a few weeks ago. Best I could pull was 16.1 somethin' in 90 degree weather. Hopefully I'll do better now that I have Kumhos and the Jet Stage 2. Congratulations!

i know this makes me sound like an idiot, but i'm really not...can you stall your factory converter up anyway...or do you have to buy a new converter? thx.

stalling the converter means reving the car up to just under the stall speed(stock converters have a 1800 rpm stall speed). lowering rear tire presure gets you better traction off the line.

Sure you can stall up a stock converter.
Try this:
Go to a parking lot
Let off the brake pedal w/ one foot and then floor it w/ the other.
See how it launches.
Then, try this, one foot on the brake pedal.
Now, while the 1 foot is on the brake pedal put one on the gas pedal.
Watch the tach
Slowly hit the gas and bring up the rpm's.
With my stock converter I could bring up the rpm's to about 1700 rpm's, anything higher the rear tires would spin.
At this point you will have 1 foot per pedal
Quickly let off the brake pedal and floor the gas pedal.
It should take off the line quicker.
As for tire psi:
40 psi in front creates less rolling resistence to promote quicker launches and possible better times.
30 in the rear is usually perfect psi to get the tire tograb
