• windows up or down?

this might possibly be the worst question ever asked...but does it make any difference whatsoever if you race with the windows up than it does with the windows down?

Most tracks require you to raise the windows ...

at higher speeds, yes. with the windows down, you increase drag at higher speeds since air resistance goes up by a power of 2 or 4(I think) at higher speeds. it won't make a big difference on our cars since we don't go over 100 that much. I always race w/ my windows up, just in case I can squaek an extra 1/10 out of my times.

Windows up.
Track rule.
Well think about areodynamics.
Which would go through the air easier, something that is one sleek piece of metal or that same piece of metal with a large opening in it that air would rush into?

thx 12sec, i never knew that about the tires. i have put my foot on the brake while giving it gas and i, too, spin after 1800 rpm's...but i have never tried "holding the gas down while letting off the brake" routine. thx a bunch.

ALL tracks require windows to be up, if they enforce it is a different story

Ha, I always drive with the windows down, mainly cause it's nice and also cause I try to save gas by not using the A/C. So ? for you is does windows down and A/C On create the same amount of drag or what?
