yeah, of course. I forgot that guys w/ big heads weigh down the car some, so i don't think nearly as fast as most other drivers. just keep it up boy. Try to prove me wrong. That combo will get anyone in the 14's.

Ok lets not have this turn into a name calling contest.
A big fat torque converter w/ sticky tire is a good way to get down the track faster, and all the things arctc listed would help, albeit some of them are a bit extreme

Kendall, you give me another week or two, I'll beat you. You're not beating me by much as it is right now...Watch out, I'll be the fastest V6 F-body in town again soon enough.

chief, i had a whisper lid, Z28 exhaust (with a flowmaster muffler), and a filter, and ran 14's.
a lot of it is the driver.
i've now got FTRA, 180* thermo, will have 3.42's, LSD, LCA's, PHB, and drag radials...
14.5 easy, 14.3 with perfect conditions.

14.4-14.5 is possible without head cam work i ran 14.4 before all my engine work i just got done with, magnus ran low 14s without the engine work, jughead ran 14.5 without tc and i dont know if its true but he sent me an email saying he ran 14.3 and he doesnt have heads cam, theres a guy on the timeslips page who is a tad quicker than mike huff he barely had any mods , no tc or heads cam so its possible

i could run 14.4s or 14.5s w/ just the converter also. bt i wont be able to do that due to my ported heades and cam. w/ the head work, cam, and then converter im looking to hit 14.1s. you have to get a much lower E/T in order to be first.

and oh yeah, when i get my car back "i will be"
who cares? does anybody ever care what someone elses car does, or it is it all about your own car? al ittle something to think about.

where in my sentence do you see me saying i will be

"14.4-14.5 is possible without head cam work i ran 14.4 before all my engine work"

look on the timeslips page there is atleast one or two guys that ran mid 14s without internal work, heck one guy did it w/o a tc

I dont want to start anything but how can a 17 year old kid call anyone who is older than them a boy?? pat you need to realize your 17 and you need to stop reading so much and listening to backyard mechanics

So all of this talk about a TC, well, I don't have one. So the fastest manual is Tyrunt Rolle with 3.73 gears that ran a 14.4@96.42mph. Then there's anouther with 3.42 gears just a little slower and a lot of internal work done. Other than that there's a manual running at 14.7 which I'm probably around and a 3.23 stock geared car, like mine is, running a 14.8 which I surely can run at a different track. But untill then I'm on down the list with a 15.3@90mph.

Odd though how everybody considers it a sin to get a automatic with a sports car yet those are the faster running cars. Atleast the ones that submit time slips. So Matt, why isn't your 15.1 time up there? Bradley, don't you have like a high 15 slip to post? Come on now, don't be ashamed.

i tried to post my 14.4 a long time ago when i got it. but lately i am more apathetic towards it all. once i get my car out of the shop, i would hope the times would get better, being that i have since added mods that should make a difference. ie. maft+ and cai.
bluecamaro96, i obviously wasnt refering to you. but how many other people have you heard "i will be" from? too many to count i bet. on this entire board i would think it is safe to say that there are about 10 - no more than 20 people who actually know cars and the mechanics of them. then there are the people who just think they know mechanics. then there are people like me, dont know anything but learning as i go. unfortunately i can afford all the cool mods and unfortunately i bought all the mods i wanted, but i unfortunately could not buy the knowledge that those few people hold that make all the difference.
now back to the original subject. i was at 14.8 with a TC, 3.42s and no engine work, but you did not see that on the timeslips page, nor did you see my 14.4 with engine work. i dont feel inclined to post cause of disbelief i feel in others.

Nino I know exactly what your talking about. People that talk about future mods are kinda like the ricers that stickercharge their cars. I will admit, I kinda do it but I keep it to myself. Mine is, when I buy me Vette, then I won't have to worry about the ignorant V8 guys.

Nino im not being a di** but are you saying that you think someone is lieing about their times on thetimeslips page? Keith does a really good job on keeping the fakes out, i think those times are legiate (sp.?)

Nino, feel free to question me regarding your disbelief. I question all of the top spot holders and make sure I have a real understanding of their car and WHY it was able to achieve the #'s that it did.

Nino, I also urge you to submit your timeslips. Your times are VERY impressive and by posting them up on the page they make us all look better. When you run even faster #'s (which you will), then I can easily update the timeslips page and move you up a few spots. ;)

Well, sort of off topic and on topic at the same time. I ran my 15.696 with no internal work, even had the stock thermostat form 1994 in it, I jsut replaced that with a 160* stat, is that considered internal work?

I will agree the "I will be", "I should be", crap is kinda stupid. Your car does what it does.

I ran my 15.696, with a 2.2XX 60", I average 2.15Xs, and have hit 2.106 before. If I ran my average 60' "I should be" the fastest 3.4L on the timeslips. With my new 160* theremostat, "I will be" the fastest N/A 3.4L". But guess what I am not the fastest N/A 3.4L, all it means to me is I need to make my car quicker.
