• times with nos and exhaust

    Tonight, 80 degrees, 100% humidity.

Dry 85 shot, cia headers, borla 3" exhaust, stock plugs (with 76000 miles...) regapped to 44, not very precise maf readings due to porting issues...

    Went from 15.7 @ 87mph with no mods a couple of months ago, to 14.3 @ 97mph.

Not too shabby. I was hoping for something between 14.1 to 13.9, and maybe even hitting 100mph. Still, I took off 1.4 seconds overall, so can't complain too much. With this hobby though, you always want more...

Still getting 2.2 60's, no matter about tire pressure (35 or 32), launch rpms (flash from idle, from 2000, from 2500), or running na vs nitrous. Practically no wheel spin, so it's not a suspension/hooking problem. Actually I can spin them easier by going 2/3 throttle than wot.

The headers and exhaust didn't seem to hurt the low end (looking at the 60 foot times before and after). And the nitrous isn't coming in quick enough to help it either.

Oh, and I loved beating the black 5.0 Mustang tonight on the last pass. By .3 :D

Thanks! I like it a bunch!

It was definitely the most cost effective mod I've done. (upfront cost anyway. paying $35-$50 per week to refill is going to add up in a hurry though...)

I'd say get some intake stuff done. whisper lid, ram/cold air intake, filter, and maf screen(maybe) would help a lot. after that, rockers, and maybe pistons. Forged pistons would allow you to run more nitrous safely. The ones from www.3800performance.com are 9.5:1, .010 overbore, forged aluminum, as well a coated for a faster burn rate, reducing the chance of detonation.

dude, don't start. you tell me of some other place that makes pistons ready to ship w/o having to custom make them? most people don't want to switch to L67 pistons since they're low compression. besides, forged pistons w/ higher compression are good to use w/ nitrous. and no, I don't work there, but I do know a good thing when i see it, and these pistons are good for what we are doing to our cars.

Yeh, I've been thinking about what's next...

I don't want to go crazy with it. When I found this board back in January, I was searching for a supercharger. So that would definitely qualify as some intake stuff.

I did the free ram air, raised air box, k&n filter, and home-made whisper lid early on. I tried taking out the maf screen, but because of the tb port & polish, my maf readings were way too far off and inconsistent with the screen removed.

Rockers would be a fairly easy bolt on. After reading the article not too long ago about the factory rockers effective ratio being short of 1.5 and the variance between rockers, I would like to throw something more consistent on there.

Also the forged pistons, and L67 rods would be great for durability, but I would have to find a spare engine to do that build-up, because I can't have my daily driver down that long. If I was building up a spare, then I would want heads, p&p intake, the whole supersix package too...

So for now, I'm waiting on the s/c beta release. And thinking really hard about an ultra-z hood, which I'd prefer to the cold air setups.

And I just finished reading where 12secondV6 ran a 120 dry on his 5175 kit, and the wheels in my head sure started turning when I saw that... Another 35 hp with some jet changes would be cool. I would probably need bigger injectors and fuel pump too.

So many ways to get the hp. And so few $'s and hours in the day. ;)

5.5 seconds, according to the calculator someone posted just a bit ago in this forum. Pretty cool huh...
