Any suggestions on which tire to go with?

I'm looking to have better dry traction than my Eagle GA's and I want way better wet traction along with a cool looking tread pattern. As far as wet traction I want to be able to atleast give it 3/4 throttle without sliding all over the road. I'm also looking for something with a tread life that will still look good in a couple of years when I want to trade in the car. I don't want super loud tires either so that's yet anouther factor. I can get tires for the price that Tirerack.com sales them for but it already includes shipping. Here are a few of my choices and the info that goes with them. If you have any comments or suggestions please let me know.

I'm only looking to spend $130 or so per tire so I didn't list Michelins or any Goodyear. I wanted the Firehawk SZ50 EP but $600 for 4 tires is a bit much when I can get 4 Kumhos for under $400. I'm really leaning towards the Bridgestone Poetenza RE730 Gen. 2's or one of the g-Force tires.

The Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asym's were the best tires I ever owned on my bird - I bought them FOR their rain traction. Dry/Wet/Cornering were all stellar, it makes me mad I lost my tires when that guy creamed my car :(

I highly recommend them - blows away eagle HP's and GAs.

Bridgestone Potenza RE950's are supposed to rule and last a long time, if I went 245/50 I'd consider a set of those too.

Kumho's and Yokohamma's are both good tires too. great dry/wet traction on both. Just remember, wider is better. 255-50-16 tires work great on the stock rims.

Can you fit that wide of a tire on our wheels? I was going to go with a 245/50/R16 but I would go with wider if it would fit and not rub.

I really liked michelin xgt v's but they are not on your list.

They were great in the snow.
Great in the rain
I went 13.4 with them with just a quick snap of the tires to clean them off before staging
Lasted a good amount of miles

Well, I ordered the Kumho's today. I just went with the 245/50/r16's. Matt's pretty happy with the ones he put on his car except for the price he paid for them. My dad has that size tire stock on his Z28 are that size so I figured it would be plenty wide enough for my weak car. I would have rather gone with the Firehawk SZ50 EP for $150 each but I can almost get two sets of Kumho's for that price. For only $86.52 per tire, it's just too great of a deal to pass up.

James, I left the Pilot XGT V4's out because they were $165.83 and I set my price limit at $150 per tire.

One thing to remember, Kumho's are a softer compound tire. Excellent traction and wet weather abilities, but lower life. They really are an excellent tire if you don't put a lot of miles on your car. Unfortunately I do put a lot of miles on mine. 34K since last Sept. and my Yoko's have barely any treadwear and they are great in rain and snow. They don't stick as well as a Kumho, but their handling is awesome. You will launch very well with Kumho's because of the soft compound, a good mix of street and track. In short, it is hard to beat the Kumho's. When it gets icy in Lubbock, leave the car parked. From what I hear Kumho's are horrible on ice, but then just about any tire sucks on ice.

i love my RE-730s, they hook real good on dry and wet pavement, the only downside is the price though..i would definately recommend them
