try a search, i swear i read something not less than a week ago about what benefits an aluminum ds has over a stock 2 piece.

THe gains are not noticeable, like in tenths, but you WILL gain from it.

You go from around 23lbs of rotating mass to around 12.

It helps performance and durability. Two piece DS's can break VERY easily.

I do know that Magnus knows A HELL OF a lot more than I do, however... I have heard of people getting noticable gains from the alum driveshaft..
it frees up horsepower going to the rear wheels and it is a lighter rotating mass. However, its not going to be a HUGE difference from what I hear, but maybe unnoticeable is a bit harsh.

            I noticed quicker rev's
Which is related to reducing rotating mass.
It seemed quicker off the line and higher rpm's but nothing in the middle

              By unoticeable I'm talking tenths.

It's very hard to put a # on the gains from going to a 2 piece DS to a single lighter piece. But it is fact that you WILL gain at least something because of the less rotating mass.

The rough "rule of thumb" I always hear (but have never proven/disproven myself...) is 100 lbs weight reduction = .1 second improvement in e.t.

And that eliminating 10 lbs of rotating mass is equivalent to taking 100 lbs off the car... So taking 10 lbs off the rotating mass should give you maybe a .1 improvement.

I think the diameter of the rotating mass makes a difference too, though you never hear that. Did you ever try to spin a merry-go-round with a kid in the middle, vs. a kid on the outer edge... It was easier when the kid was in the middle.

So the driveshaft diameter is pretty small to start with, and the weight is near the center. May not make as much difference.

At the same time, the driveshaft spins more rpms (3-4 times depending on rear gear ratio) than the wheels, so it may be about the same net effect as taking weight off the wheels after all.

I have an aluminum 1 piece being delivered today to replace my steel 1 piece... Just one of those things I thought I needed. :D

In your case, the 1 piece will be much more reliable, so the peace of mind would be well worth it, if nothing else.

LS1 DS has a smaller diameter then RKSport one. And it's much cheaper. That's a no brainer. I've held both and they weight the same +-1lb.

It should go right in, without having to buy anything else.
