Best ET's for a Stock Ram Air Trans Am??

Anyone know?? My friend just purchased a new one and brought it over last night.. real nice car, however, this is the same friend who busted my balls (so to speak) years ago with his 95 Formula.. til' we raced at the track and I beat him both times :D (with the blower on the car). Anyway, I didn't tell him I got nitrous and I KNOW he will want to race me just to try and kick my A$$. So, I got to thinking..... :rolleyes: hmmmm, race him for pink slips, use the nitrous on him, and take his new T/A.. I know these cars are heavy, so I'm thinking at best 13.5's. So, someone help me out here.. remember BONE STOCK. What is the best run you've seen or heard from these cars??? 02' T/A Ram Air.

Really depends on weather, altitude, conditions, etc. etc.

Race for pink slips.. you got guts! [img]smile.gif[/img] I'd be too worried that this would be the pass my engine decides to take a dive.

My friend just got his 2002 WS6 TransAm and the best he has gotten so far is 13.6 in Gainsville, FL. So I would say somewhere mid 13's. Go for pink slips, I could use a new car ;)

Cool.. thanks guys.. I'll wait for him to bait me and then I'll egg him on and just tell him that it'll be a close race but he might beat me if he can drive. Maybe at the very least I'll make a money bet ;) I need some cash.

my buddy ran his 2 week old SS last week and ran 13.8's and the weather was terrible, everyone was about half a second off, so it could be pretty darn quick

if youre asking for bests, then ive seen as low as 12.9s bone stock. my plain jane TA went 13.2 with 800 miles, a lid and 2.73 gears. swap to the optional 3.23 or 3.42s (6 speed) of a WS6, and better flowing exhaust (02 ram air already have a better intake/lid than previous years), and i would have been in the 12s.

the 01s and 02s are fast. if you are running 12.8 or better on the bottle, then you could probably take him though. if its a manual and he cant drive, you might not need to spray him :D

depends on his driving ability but almost all of the LS1's are capable of running very low 13's.

The Best Stock Time I ever saw offically Documented was a 2002 Collectors edition A4 run a 13.0 at Englishtown. It was in a story in High Perf. Pontiac Mag.

With a good driver and a 6spd in a stock 02 you're talking 13.0-13.3 weather permitting.

Autos are slower but more consistent stock and they pull 13.5-13.8 normally.

It's an auto. The best I've seen is a 13.4 out of a Z28 with an intake and cat back. I know they are fast, but I doubt this guy can drive this car to a VERY low 13. I'll keep everyone updated on what happens.

Well, my buddy gene firehawk222 went 13.0 bone stock w/ an auto and 17's in all four corners.
Sure a firehawk is supposed to have more power but it is still a bone stock ls1.

02s are faster than that usually, especially ram air (raised air box and better flowing from the factory). im gonna say if he can hook it and the air is decent, it will go 13.3-.4s.

I can tell you from experience in my 2002 Z28 with a ram air hood and K&N filter, M6, even on the worst day, 100 degrees and 100% humidity I still run a 13.4 or faster at 107+ mph. His hardest part will be hooking up, my bad 13.4's were with 2.39 60' times and when I hook up a 13.2 is easy so if he can hook up then it will be close, what are you running and how much of the spray do you use? Another huge factor is how many miles are on the car, LS1's are natorious for not breaking in until a few thousand miles. Mine was much slower before I put about 4,000 miles and it just keeps getting faster the more mileage because I use Mobil One synthetic and it takes a long time for the engine to break in with this oil. If he has very low miles then he will be running slower than the above mentioned times. Let us know if you still have your car or not.
