I ran a 15.75-15.82 with a stock 96 camaro a4 with a 3.08 rear end...now i have a 3.42 lsd and Im running 16.34...what is going on...temp and humidity shouldnt make that much diff should it.

    15.75 run 85mph ~70 degrees, 40% humidity
    16.34 run 86mph ~78 degrees, 90% humidity

plugs and wires have 15k on them, engine @ 92k miles
ran 1st as high as i could, held second to 5500, then 3rd i finished...i just dont understand...i put in the 3.42 lsd and tried it out and ****ty times....this is really bothering me...
also, altenator went out a week ago, now with the new altenator, when i put it in reverse my lights dim and the volt gague drops into the red til i rev it(this could be a factor)??

the heat and humidity can play a big factor, im no expert on this, but i went to the 1/8th mile, and before my best was 9.685, 2 days ago best i could get was 9.8 something, and i had a cai and new tires, and the car was stock for the 9.685!
but it was much hotter, im guessing low 70's before, and low humidity
2 days ago it was mid to high 80's, and close to 100% humidity
so it does play a huge role
not really sure on that voltage thing, but it cant be helping

hot and humid out and my car ran a 15.807 last wednesday. My track is next to a swamp, very hot very humid, lots of nutsweat throughout the night, overall my car did decent. Except for the bad launch, missed shift 17.1 I managed to pull out.

Maybe my car jsut always ran in high humidity?

btw way how did you know your alternator needed to be replaced?

was it tested at the wire? My alternator wire was corroded and broken and the autozone guy said I needed a new alterator I went ot replace it saw my alternator cable was corroded to hel and broke, I replaced it, worked fine for another 6 months.

check out your alterantor cable I haad horrible corrosion problmes for months. giving me lots of charging problems till I gave up trying to fix it and replaced the entire wire.

The voltage regulator is what went bad in it...Local auto parts tested it for me...got a brand new one for $80
