Well I went to the gainesville raceway tonight for the first time. It wasnt too full since it was 9/11 and all, but I still only got 4 runs in. Here was my best outta the 4:
well u didnt do bad man, you got a 15.8 ure first time at a track, i went stock and my fastest was a 16.5 =D, course i didnt know how to launch, shift quickenuf, have ANY mods done at all, infact i didnt even have a filter ( mine was still stock believe it or not ), the next time i got my time down to a 16.22 and then a 16.014 now i have a new 3 inch exaust and temps will be cooler almost no humidity, so im hopeing for a 15.6 or 15.5

It's all about the 60'. You need to hook in order to run a decent #. On AVERAGE, taking 1 tenth of your 60' time will take ABOUT 2 tenths off your 1/4 E.T. Running 15.8 with a 2.4 60' is like running 15.0 if you could pull a 2.0 60' but you have to HOOK. Drag Racing is all about the 60'
Yea, I had such a hard time trying to launch the car. When I got my best time, I didnt really even bring up the rpm's b/c I didnt want to spin like every other time I ran. I was trying to launch it at 2000 rpms, but I couldnt keep em from spinning, so I decided just to try and launch it without reving it up. When I go back, I really need to work on it.
