    Tell your dad that you want to see what the car can do, and if he would run it at the track for you. After a couple of runs, he'll let you drive. :D

    He'll see the other kids driving, and then he'll say, "Better not tell your mother." and give you the keys.

      If his name is on the title & he is paying for maint on the car, listen to him.

      No matter what mileage, stuff does happen.

      If the car is in your name & you are paying for upkeep, then maybe you have a case for doing it anyway.

      The chances of the motor breaking are slim, yes, however, stuff can happen. I have decided that I'll take my car to the track only after new mods. It really gets kinda boring.

      Am excited about autocross though... Will hopefully make it to the upcoming event in Orlando.

      But I will agree with your dad if he is still supporting the car in any way. He has every right to do so, because its quite likely that if anything goes wrong, it will come out of his pocket.
