i haven't been able to cut better than a 2.35 60' in the past couple visits to the track. nromally i cut low 2.2s, high 2.1's. is it affected that much, that the track won't hook...or have i forgotten how to drive?

how bad does humidity affect 60'??

i can tell you one thing. humidity is really bad for the engines. i'm sure you know the concept of water getting sucked up into the engine from the moisture in the air? well, i would only assume, that maybe at slower speeds, the air may be denser? thus causing slower 60' times. might not make much sense, but humidity does play a great factor in times...i once calculated (i forget how i did this--i think i just looked up a lot of timeslips & track conditions) and came up with the estimate that for every 10% more humidity, e.t.'s decrease by a tenth of a second.2000 NBM M6 Camaro Z28<br />323/335

There is no esy way to say.
But high humidity = high moisture in the air which means means less oxygen in the air, which means less oxygen to be burned, with the fuel.
So in a way is sort of like being at a higher altitude. So does it affect it on paper? yep.
Has it affected me ever? Nope, not that i have noticed, it affects me more tipe end not that far down low. And my track as varied form 40 degrees, almost zero humidity to 95 degrees and tons of humidity(few miles form swampland).

Well, it all depends.
I don't know the exact amount that will affect performance.
One way I have always guaged how my car will perform is take a breath of air.
If it seems like it is kinda difficult to breath for a person then it will definately be bad for an engine, make sense?

When you're trying to determine how humidity affects the car its also important to consider other conditions-when humidity is a constant, all other conditions may not be. For example, if the humidity is 60% one day, but the temperature is 60 or 70 degrees, you could run better than on a day when humidity is still 60%, but the temp is 90
What would be cool is if someone did an experiment and discovered several instances of identical conditions in several areas (temp, humidity,etc.)
