            so with an automatic do i need 2 rev to 2.5 in neutral then shift into drive while still at 2.5

              NO please don't do that! Neutral drops aren't the best for the transmission without a doubt. Since you have an auto. Hold the brake so the car doesn't move forward. Lightly press the throttle until your RPMs come to about 1300-1600. Hold it at that RPM and anticipate when the light will turn green and go for it. Hope this helps man. Oh by the way I usually take off right after I see the 3rd amber light come on. My best R/T has been a .503 so I hope this helps. [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]

                yes, usually about 1500 rpm is good (my torque converter won't let me rev past 1900 with the brake on LOL) And make sure not to go wide open throttle right away. Each automatic has a sweet spot that allows it to accelerate best in 1st gear: learn where it is on your car (still working on that with mine) and that will allow you to get the best 1st gear acceleration. After that, its pedal to the metal!

                  Hey Eric i have a 02 and i can launch mine at 2300. Anything past that and i get tire spin.

                    yea 2300 is about the limit...but it's not necessarily the most optimal. I did that and pulled a 15.7...ugh. I'll never do that again. Try launching around 1800rpms
