IMO: if you hand shift youll probably run right over your powerband and end up lagging the tranny a bit. I think in the end your best times will be achieved by letting the a4 ride it out. Hope that the CPU doesnt **** up yer timing and knock retard and lower yer shift points though. maual shifting in the manner u are talking about is known to hurt the 4L60E trans thats in our cars. I didnt konw this untill a recent article in GM High-Tech Perf. they had there transmission rebuild for there project car the "grape of wrath" and the tranny builder said that it could hurt the tranny and cause slower ET's. i noticed about a .1 pickup when i didnt shift manually. it has something to do with our tranny designed to work on low line pressure and this lets it slip longer...

I noticed this to, i got about .1 slower when i shifted it manuelly, but the last time i went and i shifted manuelly i was about .2 better?! Should i change my transmission fluid, or is this a sign that something is wrong with my transmission?
